BACK HOME AGAIN: ON THE ROAD WITH JOHN DENVER comes to the Ivoryton Playhouse, April 6 - April 24, 2016.

As a new year begins, Connecticut's professional theater scene offers many exciting viewing opportunities including premieres of new shows as well as some old some old favorites. What shows am I most looking forward to? Here are some tops picks for 2016:

"The setting is a nameless South Side Chicago blues club," said Myler, who'll direct the production for the Playhouse. "It's Saturday night, into Sunday morning. The linking dialogue is from actual blues artists that we interviewed, but it's the music that drives the piece."

A mellow eveing of memories opens The Rep's Stackner Cabaret for their 2016-2017 seaso. Back Home Again: On the Road with John Denver recalls the live and reminiscing of former band member and fellow musician Dan Wheetman. A man who travelled on tour with the acoustic country and folk music singer John Denver for eight years through the 1970s-80's, when John Denver took the songwriting world by storm.

Single tickets for all of Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park's 2015-16 season productions will go on sale Monday, Aug. 3. This includes tickets for the Playhouse's beloved annual holiday classic A CHRISTMAS CAROL, presented by U.S. Bank, which is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year.

Reaching from a music tradition founded near the turn of the 20th century, the All-American Blues "brings out the boogie" at Milwaukee Rep's Stackner Cabaret. Their lusty revue Low Down Dirty Blues features "Big Mama" Felicia Fields, Chic Street Man, Sugaray Rayford with the trio accompanied by jazz pianist Robert Stephens.

See 'Lonesome Traveler' now at 59E59 through April 19th. It is a completely entertaining and inspiring show.

The Colorado Theatre Guild's 9th Annual Henry Awards will take place Monday, July 21, 2014 at the Arvada Center for the Arts and Humanities, 6901 Wadsworth Blvd in Arvada, Colorado. The evening begins at 6 p.m. with cocktails and a silent auction. The awards ceremony will begin at 7 p.m., followed by an after-party.
