The South Bend Civic Theatre in South Bend, Indiana will present Jonathan Larson's musical RENT. The production, which will be directed by David Case, is described as a story in which, 'Seven friends struggle through the tumultuous challenges of our time - a world where dreams survive muggings and starvation, where friendships withstand homelessness, where AIDS and abiding love live side by side, where drugs and sex are tempting distractions from life's harsh realities... but, finally, where guardian angels still exist. Incredible music, absorbing story, fascinating characters ... A surging, life-confirming powerhouse of a musical, loosely based on the heart-pounding story from La Boheme.' The production will run from July 23 to August 8.
