A homely songbird seeks success as a superstar swan. Imagine American Idol with a zany animal characters and song contests and it's Lucky Duck, a new musical at the Coterie Theatre in Crown Center June 22 to August 8.

Crown Center Announces Their Schedule of Events June 2010 - August 2011

Ongoing event- Fountain Water Shows held at Crown Center Square. The famous Crown Center Square Fountain dances to famous tunes! Programmed by the company behind the renowned Fountains of Bellagio in Las Vegas, Crown Center's fountain is synchronized to music specially recorded for Crown Center by members of the Kansas City Symphony.

Coterie Closes the Curtain on Andrew Clements' FRINDLE, 5/23

Andrew Clements' award-winning story, Frindle, will end its run at the Coterie Theatre in Crown Center May 23. The humorous story follows Nick, a very creative student, and his discovery into the power of words. Due to the popularity of Frindle, run dates have been extended from the originally published performances.

Charlotte Street Foundation Announces Generative Performing Artists Awards Fellow

Charlotte Street Foundation is pleased to announce the selection of two Kansas City based generative performing artists to receive unrestricted cash Awards of $6,500 each in 2010. Selected through a competitive, two-phased process by a panel of area performing arts professionals, the recipients are composer/musician Brad Cox and cross-disciplinary director/writer/performer Stephanie Roberts.

Coterie Theatre Showcases Teen Playwrights in Festival, 4/28 & 4/29

World premiere readings from Kansas City's teen playwrights will be showcased during the Annual Young Playwrights' Festival at 7 p.m. April 28 and 29, and at 10 a.m. April 29 at the Coterie Theatre, level 1, Crown Center Shops. Professional actors, directors and designers work to present a collection of ten staged readings, plays and monologues from teen members of the Coterie's Young Playwrights' Roundtable.

AHT Presents I LOVE YOU, YOU'RE PERFECT, NOW CHANGE, 3/12-4/25

American Heartland Theatre presents an encore of the off-Broadway hit, I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change. Heralded as 'The most entertaining show on or off Broadway!' by Gannett Newspapers, when the off-Broadway run of I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change closed in the summer of 2008, it had played 5,003 performances and 20 previews, an astonishingly long run by any measure, but downright historic for an off-Broadway musical (and second only to the run of The Fantasticks). Its 12-year run is a true testament to the enduring charm, wit, and wonder of this musical. Returning to the American Heartland Theatre March 12th through April 25th, 2010, 12 years after its Kansas City premiere, I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change is back and better than ever.

Pride and Joy and Other Plays by Paul Rudnick presented by Actors & Artists Against AIDS to benefit AIDS WALK Kansas City, will end its run April 18, 2010. Directed by Jeff Church, Producing Artistic Director of the Coterie Theatre, this provocative and outrageous comedy, features a collection of hilarious characters, starring local legends, Ron Megee and Missy Koonce.
