The past year has been a whirlwind of travel, workshops, research, and re-writes for Orlando area composer Elaine Pechacek. On January 18th, 2015, the musical theatre writer debuted four songs from her latest musical THE LADY JULIANA at a new works concert near Rollins College, and then in April, she premiered a 10 song version in Winter Park. From there, her latest work has taken her to England, Australia, and later this month, to France.

Paper Mill Playhouse will open its 2015-2016 season with the world premiere musical The Bandstand. As previously announced, Tony Award nominee Laura Osnes (Rodgers + Hammerstein's Cinderella, Bonnie and Clyde), Corey Cott (Newsies, Gigi) and Tony Award winner Beth Leavel (The Drowsy Chaperone, 42nd Street) will star in The Bandstand.

Theatre professionals who missed IDAHO! at NYMF will have an opportunity to see it in staged reading this Friday, April 25th only. The new musical, named 'Best of Fest' was met with cascades of laughter during its sold-out run, prompting the festival to add extra performances. The show has been described as "a rollicking satire that takes the sexually-charged subtext of the classic musical and puts it front and center." One four-time Tony winning producer called it simply, "A hoot and a half!"
