Off-Broadway's sellout sensation Silence! The Musical will celebrate its 400th performance today, November 18th at the new Elektra Theatre in the heart of Times Square, 669 Eighth Avenue (at 42nd St.).

On November 15th, the winners of the Stage Directors and Choreographers' Joseph A. Callaway award were announced at an intimate presentation at the SDC offices, attended by most of the finalists. John Tiffany, director and Steven Hoggett, choreographer each won the prestigious award for their collaborative work on Once, produced by New York Theatre Workshop.

Since bursting onto Broadway in March, Newsies set and then broke five Nederlander Theatre house records on its way to becoming the best selling new musical of the spring. The show received 23 major theatrical nominations -- including eight Tony Award nods -- and won Tony, Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle Awards for Score and Choreography. Due to overwhelming demand, SILENCE! The Musical has just added two performances to the weekly playing schedule (as of October 23rd) at the Elektra Theatre in Times Square: Tuesdays at 7 PM and Saturday matinees at 2 PM.
