Come and celebrate all things Mom during a staged reading of MOTHERHOOD OUT LOUD at the Ivoryton Playhouse on February 20th, 21st and 22nd to benefit local agencies that promote programs for women and children.

For over 25 years, stars of stage and screen have come out to bowl in support of Second Stage's award-winning seasons and to assist the theatre in its fund-raising efforts at its annual All-Star Bowling Classic. Second Stage Theatre (Carole Rothman, Artistic Director) just announced the U.S. premiere of the new musical, AMERICAN PSYCHO, featuring a book by Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa (2ST's Good Boys and True, 'Glee,' Broadway's Spider-Man: Turn off the Dark), music and lyrics by Grammy and Tony-Award Winner Duncan Sheik (Spring Awakening), directed by Rupert Goold (Broadway's Macbeth with Patrick Stewart, ENRON). AMERICAN PSYCHO is based on the novel by Bret Easton Ellis.

Tonight, May 13, Goodman Theatre celebrates the life and creative contributions of Robert (Bob) Christen, its longtime Resident Lighting Designer and one of the most prolific live performance designers in the country, who passed away last month at age 64.

Motherhood Out Loud, conceived by Susan R. Rose and Joan Stein, is a play featuring a culturally and gender diverse series of candid monologues on the subject of motherhood, written by a host of celebrated writers. Motherhood Out Loud traverses the experience of motherhood from inception, birth, sexuality, growing up, letting go and the sandwich generation. The show has had successful productions all over the country, including an off-Broadway run at Primary Stages in New York City.

Dreamcatcher Repertory Theatre, professional Theatre in Residence at the Oakes Center in Summit, is presenting the New Jersey premiere of Motherhood Out Loud. This collection of pieces about motherhood from every angle is coming to Dreamcatcher fresh from its recent Off-Broadway run at Primary Stages in New York City. Motherhood Out Loud plays today, April 24 through May 11, with talkbacks following the April 27 and May 4 matinees.

The season is headlined by the first-ever presentation of Seattle writer Robert Schenkkan's striking meditation on power and morality in his two-part Lyndon B. Johnson plays, All the Way and The Great Society, in repertory format.

Holy Crap! That's really the most emphatic sentiment I can use to describe the internal battles I had when trying to pick my top picks for this past year. There were so many amazing performances and achievements that to pick just one was almost an impossibility (and as you'll see, WAS an impossibility for one category). But the battle is over and it's my distinct pleasure to announce my picks for the 2013 Broadway World Seattle Critic's Choice Awards (or Jay's Picks, if you prefer).

The Square One Theatre Company recently presented a live, staged reading of Motherhood Out Loud in the Community Room of the Milford Public Library located at 57 New Haven Avenue in Milford, Connecticut. The presentation was the Theatre's Welcoming Event for Christine Angeli, the new Director of the Milford Public Library. The special event was part of its annual Readers Theatre series underwritten by The Milford Bank.
