Jeffry Denman to Step in for Jeremy Benton in Off-Broadway's CAGNEY

Cagney, the new hit musical about Hollywood's tough guy in tap shoes,welcomes Broadway's Jeffry Denman (Irving Berlin's White Christmas, The Producers) to the company. Starting Friday, October 14, Denman assumes the roles of Bob Hope (and others) when Jeremy Benton, who originated the role, takes a temporary leave of absence from the production through the year's end.

GREAT MUSIC AT ST. BART'S 2016-17 Season Premieres

Great Music at St. Bart's, the concert series produced by the Mid-Manhattan Performing Arts Foundation (MMPAF), for the past six years has presented music in St. Bartholomew's Church, a parish of the Episcopal Diocese of New York located in the heart of midtown Manhattan.  The magnificent 1918 Romanesque-style church features a portal designed by Stanford White and a grand Byzantine-style interior - and two of New York's unlikely but outstanding concert spaces:  the 150-seat chapel, an intimate and acoustically brilliant space that is perfectly suited for contemporary chamber music, and the majestic 1,000-seat sanctuary - outfitted with comfortable chairs enabling flexible seating - whose Aeolian-Skinner pipe organ is the largest in New York City and one of the finest examples of the American Classic Organ in the U.S.

MY FRIEND, THE CAT Returns to NY, at the Philipstown Depot Theatre

The Philipstown Depot Theatre will host Phil Geoffrey Bond's My Friend, the Cat on Saturday, October 1 at 8pm. My Friend, the Cat, a hit at off-Broadway's Laurie Beechman Theatre in 2007, is being revived for this special one-night-only performance on the banks of the Hudson River. Featuring music by some of the greatest songwriters of the past century, the evening is intermingled with spoken text by Bond about his ten year relationship with one particularly mischievous feline.

La Jolla Playhouse announces the cast and creative team for its world-premiere production of Miss You Like Hell, book and lyrics by Pulitzer Prize winner Quiara Alegria Hudes (In the Heights, Water by the Spoonful), music and lyrics by acclaimed singer/songwriter Erin McKeown, directed by Lear deBessonet (Public Theatre's The Odyssey) and choreographed by Danny Mefford (Broadway's Fun Home). Commissioned by the Playhouse and developed during the 2016 DNA New Work Series, the production has been extended by one week, now running October 25 - December 4 in the Mandell Weiss Theatre. Theater for the New City Sets 7th Dream Up Festival Lineup

From August 28 to September 18, 2016 Theater for the New City (TNC), under the direction of Crystal Field, Artistic Director, will present its seventh Dream Up Festival, a feast of adventurous theater featuring new works from across the country and abroad. Helmed by the theater's Literary Manager, Michael Scott-Price, the festival offers 19 plays, all of which are world premieres or New York premieres.
