Film Society of Lincoln Center Announces SEE IT IN 70MM, 12/21- 1/1

The Film Society of Lincoln Center announced today that it will present 15 films in their original 70mm glory, featuring a mix of beloved classics and rarely screened gems, all at the Walter Reade Theater - one of the last remaining cinemas in the country equipped to screen 70mm prints.

Columbus Symphony Orchestra Performs Early 20th Century CHEEK & CHARM Program, Now thru 11/18

From magical fairy tales by Ravel to Milhaud's zesty South American samba, a brisk, neo-classical chamber piece by Stravinsky, and a lyrical and exciting violin concerto by the young Prokofiev, the Columbus Symphony, Music Director Jean-Marie Zeitouni, and CSO featured violinist Alicia Hui present an intriguing program showcasing the bright, appealing music composed during the first quarter of the 20th century.

Alden's 'Classics of the Silent Screen' Series Returns for 2nd Season in VA Today, 11/14

The Alden's Classics of the Silent Screen series returns for its second year by popular demand from the growing fan base for "silents." Featuring live accompaniment and introductions by a film historian and preservationist, the series has been giving audiences more of what they've been craving since tasting "The Artist." Tickets for each film are $10/$6McLean district residents.

MoMA, FSLC to Host 42nd New Directors/Films in March 2013; Now Open For Submissions

The Museum of Modern Art and the Film Society of Lincoln Center will present the 42nd edition of New Directors/New Films (ND/NF) from March 20-31, 2013. This year's festival will welcome two new programmers to the ND/NF team, FSLC's Director of Year-Round Programming, Robert Koehler, and MoMA Associate Curator Joshua Siegel, who have replaced FSLC Program Director Richard Peña and MoMA Senior Film Curator Lawrence Kardish. Peña will step down from his role as Program Director at the end of the year and Kardish retired in October. The New Directors/New Films selection committee members from both presenting organizations include: from the Film Society of Lincoln Center, Robert Koehler, Marian Masone, and Gavin Smith; and from The Museum of Modern Art, Jytte Jensen, Rajendra Roy and Joshua Siegel.

KPC Lineup Range from Jazz Music to Ninja Acrobatics in the Untraditional Holiday

Kirkland Performance Center's popular Old-Time Holiday Show returns with four performances December 14 through 16 for families seeking traditional holiday entertainment; remaining performances in the post-Thanksgiving KPC line-up fall in the very UN-traditional category. Shows featuring jazz, soul, indie, folk, comedy and even ninja acrobatics keep holiday audiences entertained from Thanksgiving to Christmas.

BROADWAY BACKSTAGE: FALL PREVIEW to Air on WABC-TV, 11/10

This weekend, ABC-7 will air a half-hour special on the best of the new Broadway season, including AN ENEMY OF THE PEOPLE, ANNIE, CAT ON A HOT TIN ROOF, CHAPLIN, DEAD ACCOUNTS, THE HEIRESS and THE MYSTERY OF EDWIN DROOD. The special will air Saturday, November 10 from 7:30 PM to 8:00 PM.

The physical comedy ensemble Parallel Exit is back by popular demand. The Black Box hit returns with their new comedy, "Room 17B." Known for works which blend theatre, dance, and music, Parallel Exit celebrates the styles of Charlie Chaplin and Buster Keaton with a dash of Monty Python. "Room 17B" will run tonight, November 8th-11th in the Kutz Black Box Theatre.

CHAPLIN Extends 'Buy One Get One Free' Ticket Offer Through 11/18

In the wake of Hurricane Sandy, the producers of Broadway's CHAPLIN have extended the previously announced "buy one get one free" ticket offer for all performances through Thursday, November 8. The offer applies to tickets at all price levels and is available in person at the Barrymore Theatre box office only.

CHAPLIN Offers Half-Price Ticket Special This Weekend!

In the wake of Hurricane Sandy, the producers of Broadway's CHAPLIN have announced a special half-price ticket offer for select orchestra and front-mezzanine seats for performances this Saturday at 2:00PM and 8:00PM and Sunday at 2:00PM. This offer is available to anyone who purchases tickets for these performances at the Barrymore Theatre box office only. The previously announced "buy one get one free" offer for tickets at all price levels for performances tonight and tomorrow night (Friday) still stands.

SHOW PEOPLE Receives Star Treatment at the Academy Tonight, 11/1

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences will present a restored version of the comedic silent film SHOW PEOPLE (1928) tonight, November 1, at 7:30 p.m. at the Samuel Goldwyn Theater in Beverly Hills. Kevin Brownlow, who received an Honorary Award (an Oscar® statuette), will introduce the film, which was restored under his supervision and features a stereo musical score by composer Carl Davis.
