Tour of Tony-winning Lincoln Center Production at the Kennedy Center Until January 16, 2011

Manhattan Theatre Club's THE WHIPPING MAN, the acclaimed new play by Matthew Lopez, directed by Tony Award winner Doug Hughes, recently met the press. This new production stars two-time Emmy Award winner Andre Braugher ('Men of a Certain Age,' 'Homicide'), Andre Holland (Joe Turner's Come and Gone, The Brother/Sister Plays), and Jay Wilkison (upcoming film version of Rabbit Hole).

While there's certainly plenty to enjoy in the new musical version of Pedro Almodóvar's 1988 film, Women On The Verge Of A Nervous Breakdown - David Yazbek's jaunty Latin-based score, the winning performances of a star-studded cast (three Tony winners and four other nominees) and the kinetic flashiness of Bartlett Sher's kicky production - the show is also a prime example of how the sum of the pieces can add up to more than the whole when the missing ingredient is a strong book.  Not that the talented Jeffrey Lane doesn't make a game try at it.  Sticking closely to the source, his work is frequently clever and he and Yazbek concoct some quirkily fun musical scenes, but the odds are working against him in this one.

Roundabout Theatre Company's Broadway production of Mrs. Warren's Profession, starring Cherry Jones as "Kitty Warren" & Sally Hawkins as "Vivie Warren" will end its limited engagement on Sunday, November 28th at 2:00PM.

BroadwayWorld.com has just confirmed the news that ELLING will close on Broadway, this Sunday November 28, 2010 after the show's 3pm matinee performance. The show opened on Broadway on November 21, 2010 and began performances back on November 2, 2010.
