Photo Flash: Ruby Froom Makes Highline Ballroom Debut at Suzanne Vega/Duncan Sheik

Ruby Froom made her debut at the sold-out Suzanne Vega/Duncan Sheik concert at Manhattan's famed Highline Ballroom. Vega's daughter, Froom is a Vocal Major at New York's famous LaGuardia High School for the Performing Arts (setting of the film FAME). Bill Connington, star of the award-winning play ZOMBIE (scheduled to be shot as a feature film) attended the concert as well. Connington met Froom, Vega, and Sheik backstage after the standing-ovation performance. See photos of the four stars at the event below!

FEBRUARY HOUSE's Gabriel Kahane Kacie Sheik & Julian Fleisher to Perform Joe's Pub Solo Shows, 6/4 & 6/11

The Public Theater is presenting the world premiere of February House, with music and lyrics by Gabriel Kahane and book by Seth Bockley, beginning today, May 8th in The Public's Martinson Theater, and running through June 10th. Three stars of the show - composer and lyricist Gabriel Kahane, actress Kacie Sheik, and actor Julian Fleisher have all been tapped by Joe's Pub at The Public Theater for solo performances this June.

Jose Rivera Joins Cast of MASSACRE (SING TO YOUR CHILDREN) at Rattlestick Tonight

Jose Rivera, the Obie Award-winning playwright and Academy Award nominee (The Motorcycle Diaries) will move from the page to the stage when he joins the cast of his play Massacre (Sing to Your Children), having its world premiere at Rattlestick Playwrights Theater (224 Waverly Place - off Seventh Avenue South, between Perry & West 11th Streets), it was announced today.

Bock’s THE RECEPTIONIST to Receive Midwest Premiere at Steep, 4/12-5/19

Steep Theatre's 11th season continues on April 12th with the Midwest Premiere of The Receptionist, by Obie Award-winning playwright Adam Bock. Director and Steep Artistic Associate Joanie Schultz returns home to Steep to direct the production. Schultz's past collaborations with the company have earned numerous Jeff awards and nominations, including Steep Ensemble Member Caroline Neff's 2011 Jeff Award for Best Actress for A Brief History of Helen of Troy. Neff and Schultz are back at it again with The Receptionist.

The brainchild of playwright Dael Orlandersmith, the all day event will take place at the Rattlestick Theater (224 Waverly Place - off Seventh Avenue South between West 11th & Perry Streets) on Sunday, March 11th. Doors will open at 1:30pm.
