The event honored Tony Award-winning playwright Christopher Durang and President of the General Counsel at Dramatists Play Service, Stephen Sultan. The evening featured performances by Rachel deBenedet (Catch Me If You Can, Addams Family), Alan Paul (Grease, Oliver!, Manhattan Transfer), Michele Ragusa (Urinetown, Ragtime, A Class Act, Adrift in Macao), and Alton F. Kate Feiffer, author of No Go Sleep!, will join Alyssa Capucilli, author of the Biscuit series, and dozens more children's book authors and illustrators at Children's Book Day, a one-day gala today, Sept. 15, devoted to children's literature. In all, more than 60 children's book authors and illustrators will take part in this 12-6 p.m. event which is filled with readings, demonstrations, magic, music, and book signings at Washington Irving's Sunnyside.
