Lyric Opera of Chicago today announced that Mary Ladish Selander, Lyric's Director of Development, will take on a new role as Senior Philanthropic Advisor. She will continue to lead Lyric's development team and engage with the Board and other major donors as usual until her successor is appointed and will subsequently serve in this newly created consultancy role.

"Bloodshot" makes its U.S. debut at the Greenhouse Theater Center (2257 N. Lincoln Ave.) Aug. 10 - Sept. 10 as part of Greenhouse's "Solo Celebration!" series. Starring acclaimed international actor, the multi-talented Simon Slater, written by award winning Chicago playwright Douglas Post and directed byPatrick Sandford, "Bloodshot," is a one-man murder mystery following the character Derek Eveleigh, a photographer in 1957 London. The thriller is co-produced by Ingenious Purpose Ltd.
Greenhouse Theater Center to Host Solo Celebration

Wendy and William Spatz, owners and operators of the Greenhouse Theater Center (2257 N. Lincoln Avenue), today announced that the venue will produce a major new performance series showcasing the talents of solo performers as the inaugural season of the theater's new producing division. Running June 2016 - January 2017, 'Solo Celebration!' will feature more than 50 weeks of programming comprised of one-person, full-length plays, musical and cabaret performances, comedians and special events on all four of the venue's stages. Submissions are currently being accepted for consideration to be included in the series at greenhousetheater.org.

Lyric Opera of Chicago's Anthony Freud Discusses Vision

Anthony Freud, 55, became general director in October 2011. In addition to directing the company's artistic and business operations, he has begun an in-depth strategic planning process with the Board of Directors, conceived of and launched the Lyric Unlimited initiative, and is forging important new relationships with a variety of other cultural organizations. Freud is the fourth general director in Lyric's 58-year history. Carol Fox, the company's founding general director (1954-80), was succeeded by Ardis Krainik (1981-97), who in turn was succeeded by William Mason (1997-2011). Mason is Lyric's first general director emeritus.
