Provision Theater Company will open their 2009-10 season with a bigger and bolder version of their 2004 hit production of Harry Chapin's COTTON PATCH GOSPEL. The season will be the first produced in their brand new home, located at 1001 W. Roosevelt Road in Chicago.

THE SCREWTAPE LETTERS, the entertaining hit theatre production is being presented by Fellowship for the Performing Arts at the Brown Theatre, 315 W. Broadway, Louisville, Kentucky on Friday, November 6th and Saturday, November 7th. The play has enjoyed sold-out runs in Chicago, New York, and Washington, D.C. and now makes its way to the Louisville area.

Travel to the magical land of Narnia with four English school children in the Beck Center Youth Theater's production of The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe on the Mackey Main Stage, November 5 to 8, 2009, at the Beck Center for the Arts. Show times are 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 3 p.m. Sunday with an already sold-out student matinee performance at 10 a.m. on Thursday, November 5.

Monroe, Phoenix, AZ on Friday, October 30th, Saturday, October 31st and Sunday, November 1st. The play has enjoyed sold-out runs in Chicago, New York, and Washington, D.C. and now makes its way to Phoenix.

Adapted for the stage by Jeffrey Fiske and Max McLean, the popular production of C. S. Lewis' THE SCREWTAPE LETTERS will get two Halloween performances on Saturday, October 31, at 4 p.m. and 8 p.m. at the Herberger Theater Center.

As we celebrate Halloween and All Saints' Day, the temperatures are finally starting to drop here a bit on the Central Coast to more fall like numbers - but there's no drop in the variety of live theatre and entertainment opportunities to be found here to fit most every taste and budget!

Actress Kathleen Chalfant and analyst Margaret Klenck will interpret C.G. Jung's Red Book during THE RED BOOK DIALOGUES at the Rubin Museum of Art on Sunday, November 15th at 6PM.

Having recently returned from 2 weeks in the Midwest - I am reminded that in many parts of the country, this is harvest time when farmers are concerned about getting the crops out of the fields in between fall rains and before the first snows arrive. But here on the California Central Coast, the temperatures are still warm - and so is the hospitality in our numerous live theatre and performance venues!

Pacific Theatre just passed the quarter-century mark - our first public performance was in September 1984 - and we're celebrating! With a whole new look, and our most exhilarating season ever: plays familiar and plays brand spanking new, singing and dancing, damnation and redemption.

Upon returning from MN & IA where I performed a couple of weddings, preached at a friend's ordination, and caught a matinee of the National Tour of 'Wicked,' the Central Coast was hammered by a storm that dropped several inches of rain, leaving thousands of households without power (erego the late posting this week). However - the shows must go on ... and so they shall!

It's cold outside, and the cows deserve better! Based on Doreen Cronin's hilariously witty book, Click, Clack Moo: Cows That Type is running at Main Street Theater on Saturdays, September 26 and October 3 & 10 at 1:00pm and 4:00pm.
