The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts today announced the national awardees of the 46th annual Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival (KCACTF), April 14-19, 2014. Dozens of students received scholarships, fellowships, and cash awards in recognition of their outstanding work. From January 7 through March 1, 2014, these student artists from eight regions presented their work and were selected to travel to Washington, D.C. for an expenses-paid trip to participate in National Festival events taking place at the Kennedy Center.

Continuing its 'From Page to Stage' 81st season, Bergen County Players (BCP) will present its annual holiday show, Aladdin, a theatrical magic carpet ride for the entire family. Building on its commitment to providing theater that entertains, challenges and inspires young people and families, BCP will present Aladdin at the Little Firehouse Theatre in Oradell from November 30th through December 22nd. Children of all ages will be thrilled to follow Aladdin's quest to capture the heart of the beautiful princess Mei-Ling, taking him on a magical journey from rags to riches and featuring not one, but two fantastical genies! Shows will be on Fridays at 8pm, and Saturdays and Sundays at 1pm and 3:30pm. Tickets may be purchased online at www.bcplayers.org, by calling 201-261-4200, or by visiting the box office at 298 Kinderkamack Road in Oradell during regular box office hours. Tickets are $13 for all performances.

Arizona's version of the Tony awards took place at the Tempe Center for the Arts on Monday, September 16th. Forty theatres participated around the valley including youth, contracted, and non-contracted theatres. Hale Theatre, who falls under non-contracted, swept sixteen awards, receiving the most earned out of all theatres valley wide.

4TH WALL THEATRE closes its 16th season with the comedy Lucky Stiff, the first musical by one of Broadway's hottest writing teams, Lynn Ahrens (book and lyrics) and Stephen Flaherty (music). This musical farce is based on the book The Man Who Broke the Bank at Monte Carlo by Michael Butterworth. First produced at Playwrights Horizons off-Broadway (Richard Rodgers Award) the show later went on to win Washington's Helen Hayes Award for Best Musical.
