On May 20 at 8:30pm at the Cornelia Street Cafe, Gnu Vox will present 'Bulletproof: An Evening With Trish LaRose.' LaRose, whose favorite credits include URBAN COWBOY (national tour), DIRTY BLONDE, URINETOWN, and THE ROSE TATOO, will sing tunes based heavily in the pop/R&B genre without entirely forgetting her musical theatre roots, sharing her personal journey with the audience. She will be accompanied by Brandon Sturiale on piano. David Devoe will be the host, and the cover will be $10.

In May 1977 three artists--Robin Hirsch, a writer and director; Charles McKenna, an actor; and Raphaela Pivetta, a visual artist--stumbled across a tiny storefront on Cornelia Street in the heart of Greenwich Village and thought it the perfect place to open a café.

The Marvelous Wonderettes' Christina DeCicco and BAWDY's, Jesse Luttrell have been added as special guests in the upcoming concert, Larry Hamilton: Channel Surfing! Hamilton, who was last seen at Joe's Pub with Our Lady J's Gospel of Dolly, will return to the Laurie Beechman for a second go-round, with tunes from the television and movie screens. Channel Surfing will play one performance only on March 21 at 9:30PM. The concert will also feature 'The Channel Surfing Singers': Geoff Kidwell (Rated:RSO), Mark Mozingo (The Hidden Sky), Anich D'Jae, Tatiana Henderson, Michael Jones, Ryan Scott Lathan, Jennifer Mintzer, JB Reed, Robin Rothman, Rachel Smith, Justin Stratton, and Robert Teasdale. Percy Rodriguez (drums) and Marvelous Wonderettes' Brandon Sturiale (piano) will accompany the evening.
