Bucks County Playhouse (BCP) (Jed Bernstein, Producing Director) has announced that the world premiere of Mothers and Sonsby four-time Tony Award-winning playwright Terrence McNally is now in performances. The new play features a star studded cast including Tyne Daly, Manoel Felciano, Bobby Steggert, and Grayson Taylor with direction by Sheryl Kaller.

Today in 1993, the first Broadway revival of She Loves Me opened at Criterion Center Stage Right, where it ran for 354 performances. She Loves Me is a 1963 musical with a book by Joe Masteroff, lyrics by Sheldon Harnick, and music by Jerry Bock. The plot revolves around Budapest shop employees Georg Nowack and Amalia Balash who, despite being consistently at odds with each other at work, are unaware that each is the other's secret pen pal met through lonely-hearts ads. The Revival cast featured Boyd Gaines as Georg, Judy Kuhn as Amalia, Sally Mayes as Ilona, Howard McGillin as Kodaly, Lee Wilkof as Ladislav, Brad Kane as Arpad, and Louis Zorich as Mr. Maraczek. A revival cast recording was released by Varese Sarabande.

Bucks County Playhouse (BCP) has announced today that acclaimed actress Marilu Henner (Original Broadway production of The Tale of the Allergist's Wife, Television's 'Taxi') will be joining the cast of The Tale of the Allergist's Wife by Charles Busch, the final production of the 2013 Playhouse Productions Summer Season. She will be joined by the previously announced cast of Marsha Mason, David Garrison, and Lynn Cohen. Four-time Tony Award winner Boyd Gaines will direct. Performances begin August 15th and run through September 1st at the Bucks County Playhouse (70 South Main Street, New Hope, PA).

Golden Globe winner and four-time Academy Award nominee for Best Actress, Marsha Mason, will star as Marjorie Taub. According to the Associated Press, Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts has selected its new president -- Broadway producer Jed Bernstein, who led the Broadway League from 1995-2006. Bernstein will replace current leader Reynold Levy.

Featuring a book by Tony Award nominee Hunter Foster (Little Shop of Horrors) and music and lyrics by David Kirshenbaum (Vanities), Summer of '42 is based upon the novel and screenplay by Herman Raucher. Tony Award nominee Lonny Price (A Class Act) makes his directorial return to the Bucks County Playhouse following A Grand Night for Singing, the first show of last year's grand re-opening.

Driving Miss Daisy is a Pulitzer Prize winning Alfred Uhry play that first premiered in 1987 about the relation between an elderly Southern Jewish woman, Daisy (Lansbury), and her African-American chauffeur, Hoke (James Earl Jones), as well as her son, Boolie (Boyd Gaines). With a focus on the themes of segregation and friendship, it is story which tugs strongly at the heartstrings.
