Terrence McNally's MOTHERS AND SONS Now Playing at Bucks County Playhouse

Bucks County Playhouse (BCP) (Jed Bernstein, Producing Director) has announced that the world premiere of Mothers and Sonsby four-time Tony Award-winning playwright Terrence McNally is now in performances. The new play features a star studded cast including Tyne Daly, Manoel Felciano, Bobby Steggert, and Grayson Taylor with direction by Sheryl Kaller.

STAGE TUBE: On This Day 6/10- SHE LOVES ME

Today in 1993, the first Broadway revival of She Loves Me opened at Criterion Center Stage Right, where it ran for 354 performances. She Loves Me is a 1963 musical with a book by Joe Masteroff, lyrics by Sheldon Harnick, and music by Jerry Bock. The plot revolves around Budapest shop employees Georg Nowack and Amalia Balash who, despite being consistently at odds with each other at work, are unaware that each is the other's secret pen pal met through lonely-hearts ads. The Revival cast featured Boyd Gaines as Georg, Judy Kuhn as Amalia, Sally Mayes as Ilona, Howard McGillin as Kodaly, Lee Wilkof as Ladislav, Brad Kane as Arpad, and Louis Zorich as Mr. Maraczek. A revival cast recording was released by Varese Sarabande.

Stage and screen legend Barbra Streisand is in the midst of a sold-out concert tour in Europe, and when asked by a fan in the audience about the status of the GYPSY film, she answered 'tell those people who want to know when I will start filming GYPSY to call Stephen Sondheim and ask him.'

Bucks County Playhouse (BCP) has announced today that acclaimed actress Marilu Henner (Original Broadway production of The Tale of the Allergist's Wife, Television's 'Taxi') will be joining the cast of The Tale of the Allergist's Wife by Charles Busch, the final production of the 2013 Playhouse Productions Summer Season. She will be joined by the previously announced cast of Marsha Mason, David Garrison, and Lynn Cohen. Four-time Tony Award winner Boyd Gaines will direct. Performances begin August 15th and run through September 1st at the Bucks County Playhouse (70 South Main Street, New Hope, PA).

Golden Globe winner and four-time Academy Award nominee for Best Actress, Marsha Mason, will star as Marjorie Taub. David Garrison ("Married With Children") and Lynn Cohen ("Sex and the City") have also joined the cast. Previously announced, four-time Tony Award winnerBoyd Gaines will direct. Featuring a book by Tony Award nominee Hunter Foster (Little Shop of Horrors) and music and lyrics by David Kirshenbaum (Vanities), Summer of '42 is based upon the novel and screenplay by Herman Raucher. Tony Award nominee Lonny Price (A Class Act) makes his directorial return to the Bucks County Playhouse following A Grand Night for Singing, the first show of last year's grand re-opening.

The world premiere of a new play by four time Tony Award -winning playwright Terrence McNally has been added to the list of previously announced shows. It will star Tony and Emmy Award- winner Tyne Daly. The balance of the season is made up of acclaimed musicals and plays and a production specifically for families. The summer season kicks off on Thursday, May 23rd at the Bucks County Playhouse (70 South Main Street, New Hope, PA).
