Moving Image's SEE IT BIG! Series Tributes Great Cinematographers, 11/8-12/29

Museum of the Moving Image's ongoing series See It Big! presents classic and contemporary films on the big screen in the beautiful Sumner M. Redstone Theater. In November and December, the Museum will showcase 22 films photographed by some of the world's greatest cinematographers, including Gordon Willis, Vittorio Storaro, Vilmos Zsigmond, Nestor Almendros, Raoul Coutard, James Wong Howe, and more. The series, See It Big!: Great Cinematographers, runs from November 8 through December 29, 2013.

SpeakEasy Stage Extends TRIBES Through 10/19

In 'The Past Is Still Ahead' by Sophia Romma, one of Russia's most ill-fated and controversial cult poets of the twentieth century, Marina Tsvetaeva, revisits the tumultuously tragic and sexy events of her life--just before she succumbs to 'suicide' at the hands of the Soviet Secret Police in 1941 while exiled in Siberia. The play will be presented by Midtown InterNational Theatre Festival tonight, July 23, 27 and 28 at The Jewel Box Theater, 312 W. 36th Street, 4th floor, NYC, directed by Francois Rochaix.

WorkShop Theater Presents LIGHTNING FROM HEAVEN, Now thru 3/9

WorkShop Theater Company will present LIGHTNING FROM HEAVEN at Main Stage at WorkShop Theater (312 West 36th Street, 4th Floor), tonight, February 14 through March 9, 2013, running Thursdays at 7 pm; Fridays at 8 pm; Saturdays at 8 pm; and Sundays at 3 pm.

Workshop Theater Company is pleased to announce the New York premiere production of LIGHTNING FROM HEAVEN by WorkShop Theater Company Artistic Director and award-winning playwright Scott C. Sickles's, LIGHTNING FROM HEAVEN, directed by Thomas Coté. LIGHTNING FROM HEAVEN will play a limited engagement on the Main Stage at WorkShop Theater (312 West 36th Street, 4th Floor). Performances of this love story begin on Valentine's Day Thursday, February 14 and continue through Saturday, March 9. Opening Night is Saturday, February 16 (8 pm). Pianist Inna Faliks Performs at Brooklyn Library's Classical Interlude Series, 12/2

Australian Musical Theatre Star Anthony Warlow is 'Daddy Warbucks' in Broadway's New ANNIE

Australia's preeminent musical theatre and opera star Anthony Warlow will make his Broadway debut as billionaire Daddy Warbucks in the new production of ANNIE, the Tony Award-winning classic musical. ANNIE opens November 8 at the Palace Theatre (1567 Broadway at 47th Street). Previews begin October 3. Warlow stars opposite two-time Tony Award-winner Katie Finneran as Miss Hannigan and 11-year-old Lilla Crawford (Billy Elliot) as Annie.

'Celebrating Franz Liszt: Solo and Seldom Heard Four Hand Music' will take place on Wednesday, February 29, 2012 at 7:30 PM at Yamaha Piano Salon, 689 Fifth Avenue, 3rd Floor, in New York City. This concert, featuring pianists Inna Faliks, Tanya Gabrielian, and Emma Tahmiziàn, is co-hosted by Pro Musicis and Yamaha Artist Services and will include Liszt's Transcendental Etudes, transcriptions of symphonic poems, and the Dante Sonata.
