On October 1, the Mental Health Association of New York City (MHA-NYC) will host its annual gala, themed 'Working for Wellness: Invest in America's Veterans,' at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel. The benefit will recognize companies committed to supporting of hundreds of thousands of America's Armed Forces service members who have returned to civilian life with significant reintegration challenges, specifically those related to mental health and unemployment in hopes that other companies will follow their leadership example.

ABC News will work closely with ESPN to cover the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil beginning Thursday, June 12. ESPN today announced the five television reporters - Julie Foudy, Jeremy Schaap, John Sutcliffe, Bob Woodruff and ESPN Brazil's Rubens Pozzi - for its unprecedented coverage of the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil this summer. The Bob Woodruff Foundation and the New York Comedy Festival presented Stand Up for Heroes last night in New York City. The event, funded in part by the generosity of Veterans on Wall Street (VOWS) and supported by founding sponsor GFI Group, Inc., brought together celebrities, military, business and government leaders, service members and their families for a night of laughter and performances from A-list musicians and comedians, as well as wounded veterans, to raise funds for programs that the Bob Woodruff Foundation supports. The amount raised last night was more than $5 million -- a new record for the Stand Up for Heroes Event, now in its seventh year. The funds raised will benefit organizations across the country vetted by the Bob Woodruff Foundation for their effectiveness and success. To date, $21 million has been raised by the Stand Up for Heroes events.

This year The New York Comedy Festival (NYCF), presented in association with COMEDY CENTRAL, marks its 10th anniversary today, November 6 through Sunday, November 10. The festival will once again bring laughs to all the boroughs in New York City, and adding several new venues. The 2013 festival line-up will be announced in August, at which time tickets will also go on sale. Additional shows will be added in the fall.
