How to describe The Two & Only!? Well, for starters, it's a one-man show about the life and career of comic/actor/artist/ventriloquist Jay Johnson. Sometimes funny, sometimes poignant, this show has a lot more to offer than your average solo show.

On Tuesday, February 3rd, beloved star of stage and screen Nathan Lane, celebrated his birthday at The Cafe Carlyle in Manhattan by taking in a performance of Christine Ebersole's acclaimed cabaret concert. Ms. Ebersole sang 'Happy Birthday' to Mr. Lane in the style of Marilyn Monroe. Also in attendance at the event were Rupert Everett, Michael Blakemore, Rob Ashford, Chris Noth, Anne Kaufman Schneider (playwright George S. Kaufman's daughter), Scott Wittman and Andrea Martin.

Two-time Tony Award winner Christine Ebersole returns to the legendary Caf? Carlyle for the first time since her critically acclaimed 2002 debut. She opened last night Tuesday, January 20, 2009 and BroadwayWorld was there to mix and mingle with the very starry crowd. The evening includes songs by Rodgers & Hart, Irving Berlin, Billy Joel and Fleetwood Mac - and even a little bit of opera. John Oddo (Musical Director) leads a quintet. Tony Award-winner Scott Wittman directs. The Caf? Carlyle is located in The Carlyle Hotel - 35 East 76th Street at Madison Avenue. The performance schedule is: Tuesday-Saturday at 8:45 PM with additional shows at 10:45 PM on Saturday, January 23rd, Friday, January 30th & Saturday January 31st. There will no performance on Tuesday, January 27th. There is a $50 music charge for the Tuesday-Thursday performances and a $65 music charge for the Friday and Saturday performances. Ventriloquist Jay Johnson and Bob, stars of the new Broadway show, Jay Johnson: The Two and Only!, have been selected by The League of Women Voters of the City of New York to deliver a major city-wide Register to Vote and Get Out The Vote public service campaign. 'Bob and I are honored to have been chosen by such a fine organization to use our collective voices in getting the word out,' says Mr. Johnson.
