Paul McCartney's 'Live Kisses' to Air on PBS's GREAT PERFORMANCES, 9/7

Paul McCartney's Live Kisses captures the magical night of February 9 in the City of Angels - coincidentally, the 48th anniversary of The Beatles' U.S. TV debut on The Ed Sullivan Show no less --when Paul McCartney decided to bring Kisses On The Bottom, his newly released collection of pop standards and two originals, to life at the very same Capitol Studios where much of the album was created. The very special event will air on GREAT PERFORMANCES, Friday, September 7 at 9 p.m. on PBS.

Jackie Evancho to be Featured on GREAT PERFORMANCES on PBS This August

THIRTEEN's Great Performances will present 12-year-old classical crossover prodigy Jackie Evancho's second television special Jackie Evancho: Music of the Movies, in August on PBS (check local listings). (In New York, THIRTEEN will premiere the special on Saturday, August 11 at 7:30 p.m., with an encore telecast Tuesday, August 14 at 8 p.m.)

Anna Deavere Smith's TWILIGHT: LOS ANGELES Receives Special Encore Presentation on Great Performances, 6/29

With the recent passing of Rodney King and in the 20th anniversary year of the Los Angeles riots, Great Performances brings Smith's dramatic work back to public television viewers across America when it presents an encore presentation of Marc Levin's film adaptation of Twilight: Los Angeles, Friday, June 29 at 10 p.m. ET (check local listings). The telecast follows the season premiere of the PBS Arts Summer Festival also hosted by Smith.

Wagner's RING CYCLE to Air on PBS in September

Robert Lepage's acclaimed new production of Wagner's Der Ring des Nibelungen, will air on Great Performances at the Met, September 11-14 in primetime each night on PBS stations (check local listings), as a major television event.

Broadway's Memphis, winner of four Tony Awards® including Best Musical, Best Score, Best Book and Best Orchestrations, comes to THIRTEEN's Great Performances Friday, February 24 at 9 p.m. on PBS (check local listings). Featuring the original Broadway cast, including Tony nominees Chad Kimball and Montego Glover, as well as Derrick Baskin, J. Bernard Calloway, James Monroe Iglehart, Michael McGrath and Cass Morgan. Memphis is the historic first Best Musical Tony Award winner to air on U.S. national television with its original principals while simultaneously continuing a successful Broadway run and national tour.

The Thomashefskys to Air on THIRTEEN's Great Performances, 3/29

The Thomashefskys: Music and Memories of a Life in the Yiddish Theater, a celebration of Yiddish theater pioneers Boris and Bessie Thomashefsky by their grandson, Michael Tilson Thomas, Artistic Director of the New World Symphony, airs Thursday, March 29 at 8 p.m. (check local listings), on THIRTEEN's Great Performances.

Anna Deavere Smith's latest production,Let Me Down Easy airs on THIRTEEN's Great Performances Friday, January 13 at 9 p.m. on PBS (check local listings). Originally presented at Long Wharf Theatre, the play received its New York premiere at Second Stage Theatre. The Great Performances production was recorded inFebruary 2011 in the Kreeger Theater at Arena Stage at the Mead Center for American Theater in Washington, D.C., launching a national tour that concluded in September.
