Music from SPIDER-MAN Turn Off The Dark will be released on June 14th by Interscope Records. With 14 new songs co-written by Bono and The Edge for the Broadway production, SPIDER-MAN Turn Off The Dark, the album is produced by Steve Lillywhite. Songs are performed by the cast including Reeve Carney in the role of Peter Parker/Spider-Man, Jennifer Damiano in the role of Mary Jane, T.V. Carpio as Arachne and Patrick Page as the Green Goblin, with contributions from Bono and The Edge and music performed by the production's twenty member strong orchestra. The release date coincides with the opening night (June 14th) of the Broadway show.

Producers Scott Morfee, Jean Doumanian and Tom Wirtshafter have announced the debut of Sounds of Summer, a musical storytelling celebration by acclaimed composers Todd Almond, Michael Friedman, Josh Schmidt and Kenny Vance. In addition, Glen Berger (SPIDER-MAN Turn Off the Dark) and PigPen Theatre Company will collaborate on an evening of new material and Off-Broadway's The Civilians will present a concert version of the their hit musical, Gone Missing.

Direct from Broadway's American Idiot, American Idol's Justin Guarini and MTV's Paul Iacono (star of the hit series 'The Hard Times of RJ Berger') will star in Jonathan Larson's landmark rock musical RENT at Surflight Theatre in Beach Haven, NJ, from May 28 through June 19. Opening Night is scheduled for Saturday, May 28 at 8:00pm. Orlando Shakespeare Theater's Artistic Director, Jim Helsinger, announced the final two plays of the Signature Series 2011-2012 Season. The regional premiere of God Of Carnage, Yasmina Reza's 2009 Tony Award-Winning comedy of grownups behaving badly will run from October 12 - November 13, 2011 in the Goldman Theater. While the Orlando premiere of Red, John Logan's electrifying new drama about artist Mark Rothko that won six 2010 Tony Awards including Best Play, will conclude the series.

The New York Post reports this morning that U2's Bono and Edge are in talks with producers at American Idol to perform songs from the newly revamped SPIDER-MAN TURN OFF THE DARK on the show's finale. According to the report on Page Six, Bono is also attempting to arrange for Spidey's stars to perform with him on the Idol stage. The two nigh season finale airs next Tuesday and Wednesday at 8pm EST on FOX.

Whether you're a flower child of the 60's or an Internet child of the 90's, it is likely that you have heard about the hit musical Hair, or at very least heard some of the iconic numbers from the show like "Aquarius" or "Let the Sunshine In." But regardless of how much audiences come to the theatre knowing about Hair, they leave having experienced something electric, powerful and unique. And leading the "tribe" is free-spirited and energetic Berger, everyone's best friend and resident "bad boy." When Hair arrives at The Fabulous Fox Theatre on May 17th, wearing Berger's trademark loincloth and "long, beautiful hair" will be Steel Burkhardt, a veteran of five previous versions of the show. We had the chance to chat with Steel about the show, playing Berger, and baring your soul on stage in more ways than one.
