TV: KINKY BOOTS' Mia Gentile Belts It Out at Stars in the Alley!

STARS IN THE ALLEY, presented by United Airlines, was held earlier today, May 27th in Shubert Alley, between Broadway and 8th Avenue and 44th and 45th Streets. Hosted by HEDWIG AND THE ANGRY INCH's Darren Criss, Broadway's best turned out for the annual performance - including Kinky Boots' Mia Gentile, who performed 'The History of Wrong Guys'!

St. Dunstan's Theatre Presents HAIR, Now thru 6/13

St. Dunstan's Theatre Guild of Cranbrook presents Hair: The American Tribal Love-Rock Musical, written by James Rado and Gerome Ragni, with music by Galt MacDermot. This 1960s musical remains timely and popular because of its commentary on love, peace, and politics. The story focuses on Berger (Gannon Styles, Northville), Claude (Dan Clair, Canton), and Sheila (Bridget Leary, Bloomfield Hills), along with the rest of the 'tribe' as they attempt to reconcile their desire for personal freedom with the traditional expectations put in place by their parents and society. Hair will be a crowd-favorite with hit songs 'Aquarius,' 'Let the Sunshine,' and 'Hair'.

Glory Crampton and Paul Schoeffler to Lead MY FAIR LADY at Music Circus Next Month

The musical theater masterpiece My Fair Lady, with music by Frederick Loewe and book/lyrics by Alan Jay Lerner, kicks off the 2015 Music Circus season at Wells Fargo Pavilion, the 65th season for the venerable Sacramento institution. Performances are Tuesday, June 9 through Sunday, June 14, kicking off the season two weeks earlier than usual. The stellar cast includes a number of Broadway veterans and Music Circus audience favorites.

After auditioning performers in New York City, Los Angeles and Sacramento, California Musical Theatre has confirmed casting for all six shows in the 65th Music Circus season. Williamstown Theatre Festival has announced that Abe Koogler's Kill Floor is the winner of the 2014 L. Arnold Weissberger Award. The play, which will premiere at Lincoln Center Theater's LCT3 this fall, will be introduced to audiences at a reading at Williamstown Theatre Festival on Friday, August 7 at 3:00pm on the Nikos Stage. Lila Neugebauer will direct both the reading and LCT3 production.

Encore Theatre Presents HOOKMAN, Now thru 5/30

Encore Theatre Company has announced the world premiere of HOOKMAN, a new play by Lauren Yee whose playwriting credits includes The Hatmaker's Wife and Ching Chong Chinaman. Commissioned by Encore Theatre, Hookman dramatizes the story of Lexi, a student in her first year at college. After losing her high school best friend to a hook-handed serial killer, Lexi must learn what it means to grow up, young and female, in a world that's sometimes dangerous and lonely. Directed by Becca Wolff, Hookman opens in previews tonight, May 6 at Z Below in San Francisco, and runs for three weeks through Saturday, May 30.
