Award-winning singer/songwriter Benjamin Scheuer's solo musical The Lion makes its Washington, D.C. debut at Arena Stage at the Mead Center for American Theater. Scheuer uses his guitar-actually, six guitars-to take audiences on a rock 'n' roll journey and tell a heartwarming coming-of-age story that explores his transition from boyhood to manhood. Called an "irresistible winner" and "deeply moving" by New York Daily News, The Lion is presented in association with Eva Price and runs February 26-April 10, 2016 in the Arlene and Robert Kogod Cradle.

BroadwayWorld has just learned that the stars and creative team behind Broadway's Fun Home will be featured on CHARLIE ROSE: THE WEEK tomorrow night, Friday, January 8 at 8:30 p.m. on PBS/WNET. Be sure to set your DVR, and BWW will bring you clips as soon as we have them!

Tickets for the NY debut of Colman Domingo's DOT at Vineyard Theatre will go on sale January 6 at Noon. Due to critical acclaim and popular demand, Playwrights Horizons has announced an extension of their New York premiere production of 2015 Pulitzer Prize finalist MARJORIE PRIME, a new play by Jordan Harrison (Maple and Vine, Doris to Darlene at PH; staff writer for 'Orange is the New Black'). Commissioned by Playwrights Horizons, the play is directed by Obie Award winner Anne Kauffman (Detroit, Maple and Vine, Your Mother's Copy of the Kama Sutra at PH; Belleville; This Wide Night; The Thugs).

The cast of FUN HOME made a created a video of the song 'Home's With You' for Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS Carols for a Cure 2015. The song was written by Joel Perez and Marrick Smith.

Playwrights Horizons presents the New York premiere of 2015 Pulitzer Prize finalist Marjorie Prime, a new play by Jordan Harrison (Maple and Vine, Doris to Darlene at PH; Amazons and Their Men; Kid-Simple; 'Orange is the New Black'). Commissioned by Playwrights Horizons and directed by Obie Award winner Anne Kauffman (Detroit, Maple and Vine, Your Mother's Copy of the Kama Sutra at PH; Belleville; This Wide Night; The Thugs), the play is the third production of the theater company's 2015/2016 Season. The production opens tonight, December 14, at Playwrights Horizons' Mainstage Theater (416 West 42nd Street), and will play a limited engagement through Sunday, January 3.

Producers Fox Theatricals (Kristin Caskey, Mike Isaacson) and Barbara Whitman have just announced that Fun Home, the groundbreaking and Tony Award-winning Best Musical, has recouped its production costs on Broadway in only eight months, becoming the first new musical of the 2014-2015 Broadway season to do so. Capitalized at $5.25 million, Fun Home opened to rave reviews at the 740-seat Circle in the Square Theatre on April 19, 2015, where it broke house box office records and won five 2015 Tony Awards.

BroadwayWorld has learned that due to prior commitments, Marlee Matlin and Camryn Manheim will play their final performances in Deaf West Theatre's Broadway production of SPRING AWAKENING on January 10, 2016. Their roles will be filled by Alexandria Wailes and Elizabeth Greene, respectively, and the show will close on January 24 as scheduled.
