La Jolla Playhouse announces the cast and creative team for its world-premiere production of JUNK: The Golden Age of Debt, by Pulitzer Prize winner and Tony Award nominee Ayad Akhtar (Broadway's Disgraced; Playhouse's The Who & The What), directed by Tony Award winner Doug Hughes (Outside Mullingar, Doubt). The recipient of an Edgerton Foundation New American Play Award, JUNK: The Golden Age of Debt runs in the Mandell Weiss Theatre July 26 - August 21. Fun Home, the groundbreaking, Tony Award-winning Best Musical, will play its final performance on Broadway on Saturday, September 10 at 8 PM, it was announced today. The show, which opened on April 19, 2015, will have played 26 preview and 582 regular performances on Broadway at the Circle in the Square Theatre (235 West 50th St) and 114 performances Off Broadway at The Public Theater.

The 2016 Tony Awards celebrated 70 years of honoring the best of Broadway last night at the Beacon Theatre in New York City. In addition to the class of 2016 Tony Nominees, the star-studded evening featured appearances by Cate Blanchett, Claire Danes, Common, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Glenn Close, Josh Groban, Jake Gyllenhaal, Neil Patrick Harris, Sean Hayes, James Earl Jones, Daniel Dae Kim, Carole King, Diane Lane, Nathan Lane, Angela Lansbury, Lucy Liu, Bebe Neuwirth, Saoirse Ronan, Keri Russell, Meg Ryan, Barbra Streisand, Oprah Winfrey and many more. As predicted, HAMILTON was the big winner of the night, taking home a whopping eleven awards, including the coveted Best Musical.

Drama Desk Award winner Michael Urie (Buyer and Cellar, 'Ugly Betty') will serve as host of the 61st Annual Drama Desk Awards tonight, June 5, 2016 at 8:00 PM at The Town Hall (123 W. 43rd Street).

Lynne Meadow and Barry Grove have announced two added weeks of performances for Incognito, the American premiere of the new play written by Nick Payne (Constellations) and directed by Tony Award winner Doug Hughes (The Father, Doubt, Outside Mullingar), which opened last Tuesday, May 24 to rave reviews at MTC at New York City Center - Stage I (131 West 55th Street). The limited engagement will now play through Sunday, July 10.

The hit Broadway comedy, Fully Committed, starring five-time Emmy Award nominee Jesse Tyler Ferguson ("Modern Family"), is now extended by one week through Sunday, July 31, 2016 at 7pm at the Lyceum Theatre (149 W 45th St). Ferguson is back on Broadway as nearly 40 outrageous characters in this delectably funny one-man show by Becky Mode, directed by Tony-nominated director Jason Moore (Pitch Perfect, Avenue Q, Sisters).
