Benefits By Bay Street announces a night of bands entitled JUST FOR JAPAN on Thursday, April 7 beginning at 7:30 pm. $40 per person available at the door. All ticket proceeds will be distributed to the American Red Cross and Save The Children, to aid in helping the victims of the earthquake and tsunami in Japan. The evening will be hosted by Bonnie Grice of WPPB and Suffolk County Legislator Jay Schneiderman.

The Indoor Farmers Market will be moving its operation to the Bay Street Theater for the Spring season on March 26.

On April 11, 2011, Virginia's Tony Award®-winning Signature Theatre will honor esteemed stage and screen actress Bernadette Peters with the company's second Stephen Sondheim Award. The award, established in 2009 in honor of America's most influential contemporary musical theater writer and composer, will be presented at a black-tie Gala Benefit at the Embassy of Italy. The 2011 Sondheim Award Gala is chaired by Ted and Mary Jo Shen; Honorary Hosts include Stephen Sondheim, Helen Henderson, His Excellency Gary Doer and Ms. Ginny Devine, The Honorable James Moran, His Excellency Giulio Terzi and Ms. Antonella Cinque, and The Honorable Jim Webb and Mrs. Webb. The Sondheim Award Gala will help to benefit Signature Theatre's numerous artistic, education, and community programs. Last year's recipient was stage, screen, and television icon Angela Lansbury.

Virginia's Tony Award®-winning Signature Theatre has announced the artistic team behind the upcoming world premiere of the musical comedy And the Curtain Rises (formerly known as Wheatley's Folly), which begins performances on Thursday, March 17, 2011. And the Curtain Rises marks the third production presented as part of Signature's groundbreaking American Musical Voices Project, the largest commissioning program for new musicals in the country, following Michael John LaChiusa's Giant in 2009 and Ricky Ian Gordon's Sycamore Trees last year.

To start the 20th Season, Bay Street is pleased to announce a very special event on April 3, with all proceeds helping to support Bay Street's 20th Season. The event celebrates the East End's own Truman Capote. Beginning at 11:30 am, enjoy a fabulous 'Breakfast at Tiffany's brunch' at The American Hotel with special guest 'Saturday Night Lives' Darrell Hammond. Following the brunch the fun continues at the Bay Street with a champagne toast, live piano music, and a raffle with the chance for ticket buyers to this event to win a Tiffany & Co. sterling silver necklace. Plus there will be other additional raffles at the event. At 1:30 pm the film BREAKFAST AT TIFFANY'S will be shown on the big screen. The cost for all of this fun is $125. A $50 ticket is also available for the champagne toast, chance to win the sterling silver necklace and the film; the fun with this ticket begins at 12:30 pm at Bay Street. Teal Wicks began performances in the role of Elphaba in the Broadway company of WICKED on February 1, 2011. Wicks is making her Broadway debut after playing the role of Elphaba in both the San Francisco and Los Angeles productions of WICKED. Bay Street Theatre will once again open its door for a not-to-be-missed event for the community by rolling out the red carpet on Sunday, February 27 for Oscar night.

New York singer and actor Steven Brinberg has garnered acclaim from audiences and critics from around the World as the quintessential Barbra Streisand impersonator in the business today. He has toured across the globe in theatres, concert halls and clubs for over a decade and was chosen by Ms. Streisand's management to make a surprise personal appearance at her friend Donna Karan's birthday party. Now, Desert audiences will have not one - but two opportunities to experience Simply Barbra, Saturday, February 26th at a 9 PM at Blame It On Midnight in Palm Springs, and on Sunday, February 27th at 2 PM at the Arthur Newman Theatre at The Joslyn Center in Palm Desert

Bay Street Theatre is planning a MARDI GRAS PARTY on Saturday, March 5. The fun starts at 8 pm. The dance party features musical groups GENE CASEY & THE LONE SHARKS and the WHO DAT LOUNGERS. Between band sets, there will be fun films showing New Orleans and some of its great musicians compiled by Joe Lauro, who is known for his popular Legends Series that has been screened at Bay Street Theatre for the past year.
