Ars Nova presents, as part of the Out Loud series, a FREE reading of: THE ALIENS by Annie Baker, featuring original songs and lyrics by Michael Chernus and Patch Darragh, directed by Sam Gold. The cast includes Michael Chernus, Patch Darragh, and Dane Dehaan.

Theatre Exile Presents 'AMERICAN BUFFALO' at Plays & Players 4/9 - 5/3

Theatre Exile's final production of their 12th season is the classic, American Buffalo by Pulitzer Prize-winning, David Mamet. Directed by Associate Artistic Director and 2008 F. Otto Haas Award winner, Matt Pfeiffer. The show runs April 9 - May 3 at Plays and Players Theatre. American Buffalo is recommended for mature audiences.

Completing its 30th Anniversary Season, Second Stage Theatre (Carole Rothman, Artistic Director; Ellen Richard, Executive Director) will present EVERYDAY RAPTURE, written by Dick Scanlan (Tony nominee for Thoroughly Modern Millie) and Sherie Rene Scott (Tony nominee for Dirty Rotten Scoundrels), with musical supervision by Tom Kitt (Next to Normal, High Fidelity), directed by Michael Mayer (Tony Award winner for Spring Awakening).

FINIAN'S RAINBOW To 'Shine' on Broadway at the St. James for Fall 2009, Cast and Creative Announced Shortly

Finian's Rainbow, which just ended a critically acclaimed five-performance run at New York City Center's Encores! series last weekend, will move to Broadway's St. James Theatre in the fall. Producers David Richenthal and Jack Viertel announced that the show, which hasn't been seen on Broadway since 1960 (it premiered in 1947), will be adapted from the Encores! concert presentation into a full production.

Green Day's 'AMERICAN IDIOT' Offically Announced for Berkeley Rep Stage

reen Day won two Grammy Awards - Best Rock Album and Record of the Year - with its multi-platinum American Idiot, which sold more than 12 million copies worldwide. Today the band announced plans to bring that explosive album to the stage by collaborating with Michael Mayer, renowned director of Spring Awakening, which grabbed eight Tony Awards including Best Director and Best Musical in 2007.

MARRIAGE & OTHER ODD OCCURRENCES Plays 4/18 At Rosenthal JCC

The two stories are tied together by the theme of marriage - one from the point of view of a married man facing the disappointment of a childless marriage and an unfulfilling career, and the other about a regretfully divorced man. Both stories are emotionally incisive, as well as charmingly humorous. As the title of the evening, Marriage & Other Odd Occurrences, might suggest, each story contains the presence of unexplainable events and impulses, some of which are life-changing.

Mamet to Direct Premiere of His New Play, RACE on Broadway This Fall

DAVID MAMET, the acclaimed and award-winning playwright of American Buffalo, Glengarry Glen Ross, Speed-the-Plow, November and The Cryptogram, among others, will direct the world premiere of his new play RACE, which will go into rehearsals Monday, October 26th, 2009 and begin previews on Friday, November 21st. The play will open on Thursday, December 10th at a Shubert theater to be announced.

AVENUE Q To Make Omaha Debut, Runs 3/25 - 3/29

Avenue Q ? the three-time Tony Award? winning smash-hit Broadway musical about real life in New York City, is coming to Omaha?s Orpheum Theater. Avenue Q, as told by a cast of people and puppets through a hilariously irreverent award-winning book and score, will be presented by Omaha Performing Arts and Broadway Across America - Omaha, Wednesday, March 25 through Sunday, March 29, 2009.
