Five-time Obie Award-winning theater company Clubbed Thumb has announced the line-up for SUMMERWORKS, its annual series of new plays. Now in its 20th season, SUMMERWORKS will run May 20th through June 29th at The Wild Project (195 E 3rd Street) in Manhattan, and will feature productions of three new plays: D DEB DEBBIE DEBORAH by Jerry Lieblich, directed by Lee Sunday Evans; CARD AND GIFT by Kate E. Ryan, directed by Ken Rus Schmoll; and MEN ON BOATS by Jaclyn Backhaus, directed by Will Davis. Festival passes are now on sale at https://www.artful.ly/clubbedthumb/store/passes.

Now in the midst of their second international concert tour, Well-Strung, The Singing String Quartet, will return to New York's 54 Below with their latest production, 'POPssical' on Friday, March 27 at 9:30 PM for one show only. Rob Hinderliter and Dominick LaRuffa, Jr. of R&D Theatricals (All the Way, On The Town, An American In Paris) announced today that Carla Gugino (Desire Under the Elms, Watchmen) and Tony nominee Will Swenson (Hair, Les Miserables) complete the casting for an invitation-only reading of WONDERFUL - A NEW PLAY on February 26. Directed by Andy Sandberg (Application Pending, The Last Smoker in America), WONDERFUL is written by playwrights Craig Ricks and John Olson.

World-renowned conductor Paul Hillier makes his Houston debut leading the Houston Chamber Choir in passionate music from the Baltic Sea. In the late 1980s, the world watched in admiration as three little Baltic countries overthrew their oppressive Soviet regimes. Throughout their struggle for freedom the Baltic peoples gathered by the thousands to draw strength from choral music in what became known as 'The Singing Revolution.' We pay tribute to their courage and resolve in a concert of music by Arvo Part and his fellow composers from Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania.

FIREBONE THEATRE has announced the world premiere production of Don Nguyen'sRED FLAMBOYANT, directed by Laura Savia. Heartbeat's one-act festival presentation of György Kurtág's Kafka-Fragments, directed by Heard, and the New York premiere of Jacques Offenbach's Daphnis & Chloé, in a new English translation directed by Proske, marks this young company's debut. Heartbeat Opera's resident music ensemble Cantata Profana, described by The New York Times as “a stylish early music ensemble,” will provide musical accompaniment.
