After a 48 year absence, Bye Bye Birdie will return to Broadway this fall presented by Roundabout Theatre Company (Todd Haimes, Artistic Director) in a production starring John Stamos (Albert Peterson), Gina Gershon (Rose Alvarez), Bill Irwin (Mr. Harry MacAfee) and Jayne Houdyshell (Mrs. Mae Peterson). Directed & choreographed by Robert Longbottom, Bye Bye Birdie has a book by Michael Stewart, lyrics by Lee Adams and music by Charles Strouse. Roundabout is proud to welcome back three artists who have previously worked at the theatrical institution: John Stamos, Gina Gershon and Bill Irwin.
USA TODAY reports in an interview with Vanessa Williams that the actress will be taking a break from playing Wilhelmina Slater on ABC's Ugly Betty and will get back to making music. Williams releases The Real Thing, on Concord Records, June 2nd.

On January 18, the California State Society will hold the Presidential Inaugural Luncheon & Fashion Show at The Ritz Carlton in Washington, D.C. Larry Wayne Morbitt, who plays the principle role of Ubaldo Piangi in Phantom - The Las Vegas Spectacular at The Venetian Resort-Hotel-Casino, will have the honor of singing the national anthem.

Carol Channing, who was recently honored by the CA State Legislature with a presentation by Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger in Sacramento was also presented with the PTA's highest honor for Advocacy for Arts in Education with the National PTA Life Achievement Award, on June 23rd.
