LIVE AT BARNES & NOBLE, has announced a series of special performing arts programming to showcase writers, composers, Broadway casts, recording artists, etc. on the occasion of book publications or CD/DVD street dates. These events will launch artist memoirs & bios, original cast recordings, companion books or special compendiums, solo albums and other related merchandise that is available for sale at Barnes & Noble. This is both a re-launch and expansion of the hugely successful series formerly know as 'Live at Lincoln' that will now span various Manhattan locations.

In Orange County, several local theaters big and small are presenting a plethora of yuletide-themed shows designed to put you in an even more festive mood-certainly a welcome break from all the parties and all that shopping you'll surely be busy with, of course. There are also many non-Holiday related presentations debuting or playing this month that will make great holiday gifts for the theater lovers in your midst. Whether you're looking for traditional fare or something a bit more quirky and off the beaten path, you will likely find something that will suit your tastes.

The Lennon Sisters, who made their first appearance on The Lawrence Welk Christmas Show for ABC TV in 1955, will celebrate their 55th Anniversary this year. From that very first night on television, America was captivated by the sweet harmonies of sixteen-year-old Dianne (Dee Dee), fourteen-year-old Peggy, twelve-year-old Kathy, and nine-year-old Janet Lennon, dubbing them 'America's Sweethearts of Song.'

On Sunday December 12 Antony Field and Chip Smith presented a CD release party of their new Christmas CD You and Me on Christmas Eve @ Sterling's Upstairs @ Vitello's. For fans of jazz and country inspired music, this one's for you! Field has a vocal sound along the lines of Frank Sinatra or Harry Connick Jr. - a true gem of a singer with velvety smooth vocal chords - and musician Smith has an amazing versatility on keyboards, horn, sax and clarinet. Their 10 original Christmas songs have an easy-going, mellow sound perfect for a laid-back holiday evening by the fireside or sitting around a table with lots of friends and Christmas libation.

Donny & Marie - A Broadway Christmas, a new holiday production starring America's favorite sibling entertainers, will play a limited engagement of performances Thursday, December 9, through December 30, 2010, at Broadway's Marriott Marquis Theatre (1535 Broadway at 46th Street).

The Barter Players are welcoming this fall with the hair-raising tale of a Headless Horseman. 'The Legend of Sleepy Hollow' begins September 23 and runs through November 13 at Barter Stage II. Barter's own Resident Playwright Catherine Bush adapts the Washington Irving tale.
