Pan Asian Repertory Theatre (Tisa Chang, Founding Artistic Producing Director), continuing its 41st milestone season on themes of social justice and historic amnesia, presents the world premiere of the new play Daybreak by Joyce van Dyke (A Girl's War).

Mariana Valencia's performance Covers, Singles, Shout Outs is an in-progress research that examines authorship by questioning what gets carried into her work through the modes of proximity, relation and alliance. Through this process Covers, Singles, Shout Outs seeks to manipulate perceptions of life and its collaborators. The work is sourced from various popular and cultural alliances and this particular ensemble of sources builds a choral surround of references. The work proposes a lens for observation that positions our personal and cultural attachment to objects and subjects, and why (or, if?) we choose to live among them. In Covers, Singles, Shout Outs, Valencia invites the audience to traverse a dense field of collective reference.

Hoff-Barthelson Music School presents a special concert for children featuring a performance of Camille Saint-Saens' beloved work "The Carnival of the Animals," on Sunday, March 25, 2018, at 2:00 pm, at the School, 25 School Lane, Scarsdale. The concert, performed by members of the School's superb faculty under the direction of Chi-Chi Lin Bestmann, will introduce youngsters to many of the instruments of the orchestra. Executive Director Ken Cole will serve as narrator using the humorous verses especially written for this piece by Ogden Nash.

Five-time Obie Award-winning theater company Clubbed Thumb (Maria Striar, Producing Artistic Director; Michael Bulger, Associate Artistic Director) is proud to announce the line-up for SUMMERWORKS, its annual series of new plays. Now in its 23rd season, SUMMERWORKS will run May 19 through June 30 at The Wild Project (195 E 3rd Street) in Manhattan, and will feature productions of three new plays: TIN CAT SHOES by Trish Harnetiaux and directed by Knud Adams; WILDER GONE by Angela Hanks; and PLANO by Will Arbery and directed by Taylor Reynolds.

Brooklyn Center for the Performing Arts at Brooklyn College continues its 2017-18 Kumble Theater season with jazz singer/songwriter Alicia Olatuja. Drawing from a wide range of musical influence including classical, R&B, soul, and gospel, this Brooklyn resident brings her scintillating jazz stylings to Brooklyn's Kumble Theater, including a preview of selections from her yet-to-be-released second album, Intuition: Songs from the Minds of Women.

Playwrights Horizons (Tim Sanford, Artistic Director; Leslie Marcus, Managing Director) begins accepting entries today, Monday, March 5, for the LIVE for FIVE online lottery for $5 tickets to the world premiere of THIS FLAT EARTH, a new play by Lindsey Ferrentino (Ugly Lies the Bone, the current Amy and the Orphans). Directed by Tony Award winner Rebecca Taichman (Familiar, Stage Kiss, Milk Like Sugar at Playwrights; Indecent), the play is the fourth production of the theater company's 2017/2018 Season.

DIVA by DIVA: A Celebration of Women!, O'Connell & Company's award winning original show will present DIVA by DIVA: American Patriot...A Woman's Journey . This Suffragist DIVA show marks the 100th anniversary of Women's Suffrage in New York State a Century after the ratification of the 19th Amendment. The New York Philharmonic Very Young People's Concerts (VYPCs), for children ages 3 to 6, will continue Sunday, April 8, 2018, at 12:30 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. and Monday, April 9 at 10:30 a.m. at Merkin Concert Hall, 129 West 67th Street.

Flushing Town Hall and New York City Council Member Daniel Dromm have announced an Open Call to LGBTQ performing artists based in New York City to participate in a fifth annual LGBTQ cultural event on Monday, May 14. Applications are due by April 1.

Due to demand, The New Group has announced a three-week extension for Jerry Springer - The Opera, with Matt McGrath appearing as Jerry Springer beginning March 13.  Terrence Mann, currently appearing in the role of Jerry Springer, plays his final performance March 11 due to an existing commitment beyond that date.

Theater Resources Unlimited (TRU) presents their popular Writer-Producer Speed Date on Sunday, March 4, 2018. In deference to Oscar night, the event will start one hour earlier than usual: from 4:30pm - 8:00pm at NOLA Rehearsal Studio, 244 W 54th St., 11th floor. Dixon Place (Ellie Covan, Founder and Artistic Director) is pleased to present the world premiere of SPEED QUEEN, written and performed by Pulitzer Prize-nominee Phoebe Legere, and directed by Lissa Moira at Dixon Place (161A Chrystie Street). The production will preview on March 7, 2018 with press opening on March 9, and performances on March 15, 16, 17, 23 and 24. All performances are at 7:30 PM.

Talking Band are currently presenting the world premiere of Fusiform Gyrus - A Septet for Two Scientists and Five Horns, written and composed by OBIE Award winner Ellen Maddow, and directed by Ellie Heyman, running through February 25 at HERE, located at 145 6th Avenue (Enter on Dominick, 1 block south of Spring) in New York City.

The internationally renowned Lar Lubovitch Dance Company celebrates its 50th anniversary this spring with two programs at The Joyce Theater featuring the world premiere of Lar Lubovitch's Something About Night as well as signature works from the Company's vast repertory. The Company will be joined by the Martha Graham Dance Company and principals from The Joffrey Ballet, each performing seminal Lubovitch dances in honor of this milestone year. Due to demand, The New Group has announced a one-week extension for the New York premiere production of David Rabe's Good for Otto. Previews begin tonight, February 20, in advance of an Official Opening Night on Thursday, March 8. Originally set to play a limited Off-Broadway engagement through April 1, this production now plays through Sunday, April 8 at The Pershing Square Signature Center (The Alice Griffin Jewel Box Theatre, 480 West 42nd Street).

Spanning the Centuries, Hoff-Barthelson Music School's week-long Festival celebrating music composed between 1750 and 1900, will be held Saturday, March 10, 2018, through Sunday, March 18, 2018. The Festival, featuring music of great Germanic composers - Haydn, Mozart, Beethoven, Schubert and Brahms - as well as masters from other lands, includes student recitals, a faculty concert by the School's Cello Virtuosi, a lecture on the life and works of Beethoven, presented by Michael Boriskin, Artistic Director of the Copland House, and instrumental and choral ensemble concerts.
