WICKED, MEMPHIS, LA CAGE, & More Headline Broadway LA's 2011-12 Season

Broadway/L.A. announces the lineup for its 2011-2012 PANTAGES SEASON, a seven-show package that includes six Los Angeles premieres of recent Broadway productions - COME FLY AWAY, BILLY ELLIOT THE MUSICAL, THE ADDAMS FAMILY, MILLION DOLLAR QUARTET, LA CAGE AUX FOLLES and MEMPHIS - and the return of the most successful show in Pantages Theatre's history, WICKED.

NY City Center Unveils First Ticket Buying iPhone App

New York City Center, one of the city's premier cultural institutions for dance and musical theater, is New York's first performing arts venue to sell tickets directly to iPhone users via its new, free iPhone app. The app, now available in Apple's iTunes app store, provides up-to-the-minute performance and ticket information on City Center's world-class performances and enables users to purchase tickets without a computer.

Aspen Santa Fe Ballet Returns to The Joyce Theater 2/22-27

Returning next month for a week-long season, the highly acclaimed Aspen Santa Fe Ballet will present a program of three works, including two NYC premieres, at The Joyce Theater (175 Eighth Avenue at 19th street) from February 22 - 27.

Smuin Ballet Presents OH, INVERTED WORLD, Closes 2/27

Smuin Ballet presents the riveting Oh, Inverted World by acclaimed choreographer Trey McIntyre set to music by the popular indie-rock band The Shins in Walnut Creek (Feb 4-5), Carmel (Feb 18-19), and Mountain View (Feb 23-27).. This dynamic ballet the New York Times called 'striking' and 'remarkable' made its world premiere in San Francisco last October. The program will also include Bluegrass/ Slyde by Michael Smuin, an electric piece called 'riotous' by the SF Examiner and featuring the bluegrass twang of renowned banjoist Béla Fleck and master bassist Edgar Meyer. Rounding out the program is Smuin's classic ballet Brahms-Haydn Variations, a lyrical favorite filled with courtly references, called 'lovely' by the San Francisco Chronicle and 'impressive' by the New York Times. NYCS To Perform Rossini's Petite Messe Solennelle 2/25

New York Choral Society (NYCS) will perform Rossini's Petite Messe Solennelle in the newly renovated Alice Tully Hall at Lincoln Center on February 25 at 8pm. The esteemed chorus performs under the baton of NYCS Music Director John Daly Goodwin, alongside soprano Joyce El-Khoury, mezzo-soprano Marjorie Dix, tenor Michele Angelini and bass Brian Kontes.

Parsons Dance Returns with East Village Opera Company 4/16

The phenomenal Parsons Dance returns to New Orleans with a program featuring the critically-acclaimed dance/rock opera Remember Me, a collaboration with the Grammy-nominated East Village Opera Company (EVOC), on April 16 at 8pm at the Mahalia Jackson Theater.

Manhattan Movement & Arts Center Presents 'Dance Against Cancer' Benefit 4/25

The evening's performance, produced by Erin Fogarty and New York City Ballet principal dancer Daniel Ulbricht, will include three World Premiere pieces and will be performed by Daniel Ulbricht, Robert Fairchild, Amar Ramasar, Tyler Angle, Craig Hall, Wendy Whelan, Maria Kowroski, and Sterling Hyltin, as well as Matthew Rushing, Attila Csiki, Keigwin + Company, Alex Wong, and Martin Harvey to choreography by George Balanchine, Christopher Wheeldon, Benjamin Millepied, Larry Keigwin, Lar Lubovitch, Earl Mosley, Alex Wong and Robert Fairchild, and Daniel Ulbricht.

Cavenaugh, O'Hare, et al. Set for GIGI at Reprise Theatre Company, 2/15-27

William Atherton, Matt Cavenaugh, Lisa O'Hare, Carol Lawrence, Millicent Martin and Jason Graae are the acclaimed film, Broadway and West End stars who will lead the cast of Reprise Theatre Company's second production of the 2010-2011 season, 'Gigi', playing February 15 to February 27, 2011 (press opening February 16, 2011) at UCLA's Freud Playhouse. The musical - with book and lyrics by Alan Jay Lerner and music by Frederick Loewe -- will be directed by veteran musical theatre director David Lee, with choreography by Peggy Hickey and musical direction by Steve Orich.
