On August 26, Marty Thomas (Xanadu, Wicked, The Secret Garden) celebrated his birthday with the 5th Annual Glitter Ball at Industry Bar. There was an all star concert featuring the Divas: Kelly King, Alexa Green and Marissa Rosen, Saycon Sengbloh, N'Kenge, Anna Harrington, Kate Rockwell, Kat Hennessey and Rachelle Rak. Some of Broadway's brightest talents will sing completely new arrangements of the hits of Amy Winehouse in the next concert of the BROADWAY SINGS concert series. More than 20 Broadway performers will be accompanied by a full band playing brand new, original orchestrations of the English singer's greatest songs. The concert is the fifth of the series; previously honored were Adele, Michael Jackson, Beyonce, and Stevie Wonder.

The full Bernstein score honors ON THE TOWN, not the truncated movie version, on stage with a great cast, stunning choreography and a fresh new approach under the artful hand of John Rando, director.

On May 6, Broadway came together to support those affected by the Boston Marathon Tragedy at The Laurie Beechman Theatre. Magical things really can happen when Broadway talents converge, as is proven on Kait Kerrigan and Brian Lowdermilk's sophomore album KERRIGAN-LOWDERMILK LIVE. The album exists because the duo raised an impressive and record-breaking $35,000 in their debut album's Kickstarter campaign. With the extra $25,000 they funded a concert tour, 2011's 'You Made This Tour,' and a live album, KERRIGAN-LOWDERMILK LIVE. As a singer-songwriter duo that also writes for theatre, there is a prominent and fascinating indie vibe that inhabits every track. As Kait Kerrigan states on one of the tracks, there is simply no denying that this album fabulously showcases talents are the 'future of theater and music in general.'

Barrington Stage Company has announced principal casting for the Bernstein/Comden/Green musical On the Town from June 12 through July 13 on the Boyd-Quinson Mainstage, 30 Union Street, Pittsfield. The press opening is Sunday, June 16 at 5pm.
