Park Avenue Armory announced today its 2014 season, an unprecedented mix of presentations and commissions ranging from Kenneth Branagh's highly-anticipated New York stage debut in an immersive and visceral staging of Macbeth; to the London-based trio The xx in a performance that alters the interaction and relationship of the audience with the band; to a visual art commission by artist Douglas Gordon and classical pianist He?le?ne Grimaud that will transform the drill hall into a water-filled environment; to Peter Sellars's staging of St. Matthew Passion which fuses the audience, the orchestra, and soloists into one dramatic, unified assembly.
The U.S. premiere of Rob Ashford and Kenneth Branagh's staging of MACBETH will take over Park Avenue Armory's 55,000-square-foot Wade Thompson Drill Hall in June 2014.

Johnny Vegas returns to Manchester International Festival with a new theatre show in the Festival‘s own performance space, the Pavilion Theatre on Albert Square.
Multi-award winning actress Jenna Russell will play the role of Enid. Jenna won an Olivier Award and Theatre World Award for her performance as Dot/Marie in Sunday In The Park With George in the West End and on Broadway. She was nominated for a Tony and a Drama Desk Award for the same performance. Most recently she appeared in Aykbourn's Season's Greetings at the National Theatre, and prior to that in the award winning Into the Woods at the Open Air Theatre, Regent's Park.
Vincent Franklin will play the role of Tubby. Vincent has appeared in all three series of The Thick Of It on the BBC, and has also recently appeared in the TV series Doc Martin and Being Human. Vincent has also appeared in numerous stage productions and is one half of the comedy duo ‘John and Vince'.
Manchester International Festival today launches the full programme for the 2011 Festival, with an event at Manchester's Museum of Science and Industry.
