For the past 17 years Pittsburgh Public Theater has been led by impresario and consummate showman Ted Pappas. His aesthetic has defined the company, his business acumen has kept the organization remarkably debt-free, his exacting standards have established The Public as one of the finest regional theaters in America, and his tireless presence at numerous performances have made him the face of Pittsburgh Public Theater. Mr. Pappas this week announced that in 18 months he will leave the company, at the conclusion of the 2017/2018 season. During his final season he will direct productions of Peter Shaffer's Equus, Stephen Sondheim's A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, and William Shakespeare's Hamlet.

Actress and singer Rachel Tucker has impressed in leading musical theatre roles both in the West End and on Broadway, including Wicked, We Will Rock You and The Last Ship. She's also performed in plays such as Alan Ayckbourn's Communicating Doors and released an album. Now, she's embarking on her first solo tour, which travels the UK this summer and also transfers to New York in September.

Singing sensation Joe McElderry has been back in the studio recording his anticipated new album SATURDAY NIGHT AT THE MOVIES. The album will be released this July but fans will be able to pre-order on iTunes from Mother's Day. With "Communicating Doors" by Alan Ayckbourn the Granite Theatre is stretching into even greater, more challenging contemporary works of theatre, bound to intrigue and delight all audiences. Ayckbourn, a master of comedies of manners shows his versatility in this hilarious comic time traveling thriller, packed with surprises that keeps the audience on their seat edges.
