Casting for the first two weeks of American Ballet Theatre's 2015 Spring Season at the Metropolitan Opera House was announced today by Artistic Director Kevin McKenzie. 

On on March weekend just after spring arrived, the Milwaukee Ballet opened one of the oldest ballets- Giselle-to an appreciative audience. By adapting Jean Corelli's and Jules Perrot's original choreography, with Adolphe Adam's musical score arranged by Gavin Sutherland, Michael Pink in collaboration with Christopher Cable delves deeper into the human existence through their interpretation integrating traditional and contemporary choreography to retell one of the most romantic ballets in the art's repertoire. Another ballet where every year through Pink's remarkable storytelling the audience anticipates his revelation of art and beauty, grace and strength through dance.

For its spring production Maine State Ballet presents a stylishly swashbuckling account of Le Corsaire, vividly choreographed by Linda MacArthur Miele (after Petipa) and elegantly designed by Gail Csoboth. The more than thirty-five principals, soloists, and corps de ballet, drawn from area professionals and talented young dancers in the company school form a cohesive troupe, who seem to have grown in polish and precision over the past few years and who are not afraid to tackle the demands of this large scale Romantic ballet.

American Ballet Theatre's 2015 season at the Metropolitan Opera House, May 11-July 4, will be highlighted by the New York Premiere of an all-new production of The Sleeping Beauty, a revival of Lar Lubovitch's Othello and repertory programs featuring historic works in celebration of the Company's 75th Anniversary Season. The final performance of Manhattan Youth Ballet's spring production, Stories that Dance: Shakespeare and his Legacy, was full of joy. Four story ballets were performed with the young dancers involved in the story telling, rather than just going through the movements.

Kansas City Ballet is pleased to announce that Grace Holmes, previously Professor of Dance at University of Texas at Austin, assumed the role of Kansas City Ballet School Director beginning September 1, 2014. Her responsibilities will include oversight of the Academy, the Kansas City Youth Ballet, the newly created Trainee Program, the Studio Division and the summer programs for the more than 600 children, young adults and adults in the downtown Bolender Center campus and the Johnson County campus.

Kansas City Ballet Artistic Director Devon Carney today announced the appointment of three new members of the artistic staff: Grace Holmes as the new Director of Kansas City Ballet School, Kristi Capps as the new Ballet Master and Anthony Krutzkamp as newly created position of Manager of KCB II. Carney also announced eleven new members of the Company, increasing the Company from 28 to 29 members for the 2014-2015 season. He also announced the appointment of four new KCB II dancers, which stands at six members. Carney also announced the creation of a Trainee Program with five students, two selected from Kansas City Ballet School.
