It's Official: Carney, Damiano & Page Open SPIDER-MAN on Broadway Dec. 21, 2010; Previews Begin Nov. 14

Lead producer Michael Cohl announced today that SPIDER-MAN Turn Off The Dark will begin preview performances on Broadway on Sunday, November 14, 2010, at 3 p.m., with Opening Night set for Tuesday evening, December 21. Directed by Julie Taymor and featuring a book by Julie Taymor and Glen Berger, and new music and lyrics by Bono and The Edge, SPIDER-MAN Turn Off The Dark will open at Broadway's Foxwoods Theatre (213 West 42nd Street).

On August 6, lead singer Bono and bass player Adam Clayton of Irish rock band U2 performed a concert at the Olympic stadium in Turin, norther Italy. U2 singer Bono is ready to rock after back surgery sidelined him for two months, and forced the band to postpone its North American tour by a year to May 2011. The Shrine Hosts The Nue Jazz Project, 6/16

The Shrine (2271 Adam Clayton Powell Jr Blvd) hosts The Nue Jazz Project on Wednesday, June 16th at 8 pm. The Nue Jazz Project is lead by drumist Chris Massey with Benjamin Drazen on saxaphone, Donald Malloy on trumpet, Evgeny Lebedev on piano, and David Ostrem on bass. They will be playing selections from Massey's new album, 'Vibrainium.'

'A Delicate Touch' On Display Thru 3/14 at Studio Museum

This survey of 18 works from the museum's permanent collection, drawn from the 1940s through 2007, explores the world of watercolor paintings-a medium that requires a delicate touch and exacting brushwork. The exhibit is on display through March 14, 2010 at Studio Museum in Harlem.

The New York Times Reports: DREAMGIRLS on Living Their Dream at Apollo Theater, Opens 11/22

Producer John Breglio and the Apollo Theater Foundation, Inc. will bring Broadway uptown for four weeks only with Dreamgirls at the Apollo Theater, prior to the national tour of the new production of the groundbreaking musical. The national tour of Dreamgirls will kick-off at Harlem's legendary Apollo Theater (253 West 125 Street) beginning previews Saturday, November 7, 2009, and opening Sunday, November 22, 2009, for 4 weeks only, through Sunday December, 6, 2009.
