Freestyle Digital Media, the digital film distribution division of Byron Allen's Entertainment Studios, has acquired the North American rights to the boxing-themed drama EL GALLO. EL GALLO debuts on VOD and will be available to rent and own on digital HD across cable, internet, and satellite platforms through Freestyle Digital Media on January 16, 2018.

Waterwell is presenting a new dual language (English/Farsi) version of Hamlet at the Sheen Center for Thought and Culture (18 Bleecker Street). Starring Tony Award nominees Arian Moayed as Hamlet, Sherie Rene Scott as Gertrude, and Micah Stock as Horatio, with direction by Drama Desk nominee Tom Ridgely, Hamlet is currently in previews for a May 21st opening. Waterwell announced today a strictly limited engagement of a new dual language (English/Farsi) version of Hamlet at the Sheen Center for Thought and Culture (18 Bleecker Street). Starring Tony Award nominees Arian Moayed as Hamlet, Sherie Rene Scott as Gertrude, and Micah Stock as Horatio, with direction by Drama Desk nominee Tom Ridgely, Hamlet will begin performances on Wednesday, May 10, 2017, with an opening night set for Sunday, May 21 at 8:00pm, and will play through June 3.

Red Bull Theater today announced that their Twelfth Season will continue with Shakespeare's Hamlet, directed by Tom Ridgely, on Monday May 2nd at 7:30pm, at the Lucille Lortel Theatre (121 Christopher Street, between Bleecker and Hudson). Featured in the cast will be Arian Moayed (Tony Award nomination, Bengal Tiger at the Baghdad Zoo) along with Mohammad Aghebati, Amir Arison, Brendan Averett, Cary Donaldson, Abraham Makany, Seth Numrich, Debargo Sanyal, Babak Tafti, Faran Tahir, Sheila Vand, Bernard White, and more. Final casting has been set for the 2015 Planet Connections Theatre Festivity's Playwrights For A Cause, set to take place at 7:30pm on Sunday, June 14, 2015 at New York Theatre Workshop, 79 East 4th Street, on Sunday, June 14 at 7:30 pm. The evening, which will benefit the non-profit National Coalition Against Censorship, will showcase world premiere one-act plays by three acclaimed playwrights: Israel Horovitz's Breaking Phillip Glass and Erik Ehn's Her Speech, both directed by Planet Connections Theatre Festivity founder and PFAC Producing Artistic Curator Glory Kadigan, and Halley Feiffer's A Play About New Mexico, directed by Gaye Taylor Upchurch.

After a successful run at The Flea, the theater has announced the extension of the U.S. Premiere of I HATE F*CKING MEXICANS by Luis Enrique Gutierrez Ortiz Monasterio "the enfant terrible of contemporary Mexican theater." Translated by Debbie Saivetz, Ana Graham, and Danya Taymor and directed by Ms. Taymor, a Flea Resident Director; the production features members of The Bats and The Riot Group's Adriano Shapman. Previews began October 9, with opening night on October 18. The show is now extended with limited performances through December 11.

After selling out almost all of its originally scheduled performances, The Flea Theater announces an extension of the New York premiere production of JOB, written by Thomas Bradshaw and directed by Flea Resident Director Benjamin Kamine. Previews began August 31, with opening night slated for Wednesday, September 19. Originally scheduled to end October 7, performances will now run through November 3.
