Written by David Edgar and adapted from the novel by Charles Dickens, the production is produced in Collaboration with Theatre UCF. The Michigan Shakespeare Festival is proud to announce the opening of their 2013/2014 Touring Performances. 3Arts is honored to announce the ten recipients of its 6th annual 3Arts Awards, presented to women artists, artists of color and artists with disabilities working in the performing, teaching and visual arts. The awards will be presented tonight, Monday, Oct. 21, by the 3Arts Board of Directors and Awards Host Committee in a celebratory gathering at the Museum of Contemporary Art. 3Arts has awarded over $1 million in total grants to more than 100 Chicago artists in the past six years.
The Phoenix, the new theatre company founded by long-time PICT artistic director and founder Andrew Paul and Pittsburgh Playwrights Theatre founder and former director of theatre initiatives at the August Wilson Center, Mark Clayton Southers, will debut with a four week run of Joe Penhall's provocative, caustically funny, Olivier Award-winning play Blue/Orange. Since late August, I have been leading the production team of Merrick Theater and Center for the Arts main stage production of FIDDLER ON THE ROOF- and it's been full of drama (on the stage that is - yuck yuck). The theater's management (Joe, Tony, Joanne and Ben) are all cool cats, each with their own personalities but all with the same expectation: that my team and I create a wonderful production of Hal Prince's classic . And boy, do I have the team to make it happen!

Deadline reports that Dorian Missick (Southland) has joined the ANNIE remake alongside Tracie Thoms as Annie's 'fake parents'. The new film inspired by the classic Broadway musical with a modern spin also stars Quvenzhane Wallis in the title role with Jamie Foxx, Cameron Diaz, Rose Byrne, Bobby Cannavale, as well as the recently announced David Zayas. The film is currenly filming on-location in New York City.
