Photo Flash: First Look at Annie Baker's THE FLICK at Steppenwolf

Steppenwolf Theatre Company presents the Chicago premiere of Annie Baker's 2014 Pulitzer Prize-winning drama, THE FLICK. Under the direction of Dexter Bullard, who also directed the Chicago premiere of Baker's Circle Mirror Transformation, the cast features Danny McCarthy,Caroline Neff and Travis Turner as the three hapless employees of THE FLICK movie house. The production is curently in previews for a February 14th opening and runs through May 8, 2016 in Steppenwolf's Upstairs Theatre (1650 N Halsted St). A Red Orchid Theatre Extends THE MUTILATED

?Due to popular demand, A Red Orchid Theatre has extended its critically-acclaimed production of Tennessee Williams' The Mutilated, directed by Ensemble Member Dado. The Mutilated will now run through March 13, 2016. The Mutilated features Ensemble Members Lance Baker, Jennifer Engstrom, Mierka Girten, Steve Haggard, Shade Murray, Doug Vickers and Natalie West with Ciera Dawn, Jennifer Glasse, Roy Gonzalez, Mario Hernandez, Morgan Maher, Lauren Vogel and Dominque Worsley. A Red Orchid Theatre is located at 1531 N Wells.

Steppenwolf Theatre's Chicago Premiere of THE FLICK Begins Tonight

Steppenwolf Theatre Company presents the highly anticipated Chicago premiere production of Annie Baker's The Flick, winner of the 2014 Pulitzer Prize for Drama. Directed by Dexter Bullard, the cast features Will Allan, Danny McCarthy, Caroline Neff and Travis Turner. The Flick runs tonight, February 4, through May 8, 2016 in the Upstairs Theatre.

A Red Orchid Sets SENDER World Premiere Cast

?A Red Orchid Theatre concludes its 2015-2016 season with the world premiere of Sender by Ike Holter, directed by Ensemble Member Shade Murray. Featuring Ensemble Member Steve Haggard, the cast of Sender also includes McKenzie Chinn, Mary Williamson and Steven Wilson. Sender will run April 14 - May 29, 2016. The press opening for Sender is April 18, 2016 at 7 p.m. A Red Orchid Theatre is located at 1531 N Wells.

Peninsula Players to Host Free Play Reading of THE WHO AND THE WHAT, 2/1

?Peninsula Players Theatre will present a reading of "The Who & The What" by Ayad Akhtar, the Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright, at Bjorklunden at 7590 Boynton Lane, Baileys Harbor at 7p.m., Monday, February 1.  This play reading is produced with support from and in conjunction with Door County Reads and its exploration of Akhtar's novel "American Dervish."  Join the Players reading of a fierce and funny new play about family, faith and what happens when the two disagree.  Admission is free.

The Theatre School at DePaul University will present the world premiere of Prospero's Storm, adapted and directed by Damon Kiely, with music and lyrics by Mark Elliott, based on William Shakespeare's The Tempest, as the second installment of the 2015-16 Chicago Playworks for Families and Young Audiences season.
