BIO
Katy Marcella is an actor, dancer, and choreographer based in Los Angeles, CA. After seeing Fosse on Broadway for her 10th birthday, Katy knew she wanted to spend her life onstage. Soon she immersed herself in the dance world, and traveled across the country to train with the Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet and Milwaukee Ballet school. In high school, Katy joined her school's show choir and began choreographing for local community theatre productions at age 15. She received a BFA in Musical Theatre & Dance from the University of Minnesota Duluth, and was nominated to compete in the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival’s Irene Ryan Acting Scholarship competition during her junior year. She also performed in the world premiere of composers' Kerrigan & Lowdermilk’s Tales from the Bad Years, the first fully-staged production of their song cycle by the same name. After graduating college, Katy spent some time in Istanbul, Turkey assistant teaching musical theatre dance at Maltepe Üniversitesi. Katy is an in-house performer and choreographer with Art Time Presents..., as well as a recent graduate of Dance Lab New York's Broadway Choreography Intensive, led by Josh Prince and Valerie Salgado.
