Appearing on stage from age 2, and recording his first voiceover demo at age 5, AJ Danna's life goal has always been to make audiences smile. Born and raised in Hollywood, California, AJ has performing in his genes; his father is an entertainer, and his mother is a writer. AJ exercised and fine-tuned his comedy skill set by performing improv with The Groundlings (scholarship recipient) and ComedySportzLA, while pursuing voiceover mentorship with Corey Burton and others. Taking into account his trained ear for voice matching, AJ has brought life to countless classic character voices (including his voice match performance of Disney's Aladdin Genie, once praised by Jim Meskimen as a "duplication" of Robin Williams.) On camera, AJ has performed roles for network sitcoms and dramas, including NBC, FOX, CBS, and Freeform. He also recently starred in a film produced by students at USC's esteemed School of Cinematic Arts. AJ's passion for family television eventually brought him to Sid & Marty Krofft's "Mutt & Stuff," dancing and singing alongside canine friends for young viewers. On stage, AJ earned an award for "Best Comedic Actor in a Play" during his time performing theatre for children. His theatre background came to the surface again for NBC's "Hairspray Live!," where AJ joined the likes of Martin Short, Ariana Grande, Kristin Chenoweth, and Harvey Fierstein in the world of 1960s Baltimore. Most recently, AJ performed as Scotty in the comedy/horror production "Evil Dead: The Musical." Behind-the-scenes, AJ has also assisted in bringing productions to life through SAG-AFTRA technical work. He has experience and training in ADR looping, voice matching, dubbing, and occasionally body doubling/standing in (including working on Greta Gerwig's Academy Award-nominated "Lady Bird"). Additionally, AJ has entertained thousands of guests while performing improv at theme parks and live events throughout Southern California. Whether it's through his work in voiceover, television, theatre, or live immersive entertainment, AJ will continue to deliver on his ideals of telling stories & making you smile.
