BIO

Verónica Weatherbie she/ella is an actor, musician, and playwright from bordertown Nogales, AZ. As a playwright, she is known for her work on West Side Stories (Borderlands Theater, 2022) and Best Drama winner, Alters in the 5th District (Tucson Fringe Festival, 2020).

Weatherbie was awarded the 2025 ARPA Individual Artist Grant in conjunction with her newest work; a magical-realism play about Southwest artist and legend, Ted DeGrazia.

This past year, Veronica debuted the role of Kaleechi in the new parody Blame of Thrones (Borderlands Theater) and played Alex, in Live Theatre Workshop’s Home, I’m Darling. Her recent film work includes Backwoods Lu’au (2025) directed by Dan Crowley and Vengeance Against Evil (2025), a horror/suspense from Rene Rivas.
