Thirty-one of 134 exhibiting artists received awards during the June 25 Artists Reception for Ellarslie Open 39 at Trenton City Museum at Ellarslie Mansion.
The Trenton City Museum at Ellarslie will host the closing reception for its acclaimed exhibition Painting the Moon and Beyond: Lois Dodd and Friends Saturday, April 30, from 1 to 4 p.m. In addition to meeting the show's artists, attendees will hear a moon- and art-inspired concert of Nocturnes, Arias, and Artistic Memories performed by cellists Eric Schultz and Mira Kang and pianist Sandra Pucciatti. The program will include selections by Chopin, Sondheim, Bach, Puccini.
The Trenton City Museum invites the public to join the artists of Painting the Moon and Beyond in an online talk Wednesday, January 26, from 7 to 8 p.m. Lois Dodd, Jeff Epstein, Dan Finaldi, Elizabeth O'Reilly, and Mel Leipzig will talk about their relationships to one another, how their friendships have helped them grow as artists, painting outside at night, and anything attendees ask during the talk's Q&A.
The Trenton City Museum at Ellarslie Mansion will present an exhibition focusing on a community of artists surrounding New Jersey native and revered American landscape painter Lois Dodd. “Painting the Moon and Beyond: Lois Dodd and Friends Explore the Night Sky,” opening Friday, November 19, and on view through April 29, 2022, will include 75 paintings by Dodd, Jeff Epstein, Dan Finaldi, and Elizabeth O'Reilly.
This week, a retrospective of Mel Leipzig's work will open at the Morris Museum in Morristown, NJ.

Carole Feuerman
Carole Feuerman is a world renowned sculptor whose works have been showcased in numerous exhibitions including the Venice Biennale, the Australian Biennale, the State Hermitage in Russia, the Palazzo Strozzi Foundation in Italy, the Kunstmuseum Ahlen in Germany, and the Amarillo Museum in Texas. She has been honored with six museum retrospectives. In 2012 the New York City Department of Parks and Recreation began exhibiting her large scale works including the inner-tube sculpture, SURVIVAL OF SERENA, in SoHo.
The Holiday Group Show is a great time for us to showcase the different artists at the gallery. Today we highlight three painters on our front wall. Sharon Sprung's new painting Fringe just arrived at the gallery this week. David Graeme Baker's Leap Day, along with two other new paintings by Baker, marks the first time in two years that new Bakers have been available in the gallery. Robert Jackson's Props was a favorite from his recent solo show at the gallery.
At 78 years old, Mel Leipzig hustles a four-foot canvas out of his white van and sets up for the day's project; he is painting a young female tattoo artist in her shop. This marks the first of 8 weekly visits he will make before the canvas is ready to exhibit.
The Gallery at Mercer County Community College (MCCC) hosts “Left of Central: Later 20th Century Visual Arts in the Capital City,” an exhibit featuring works by pioneering artists from the Trenton Artists Workshop Association (TAWA). The exhibit runs from Tuesday, Jan. 21 to Thursday, Feb. 20. An opening reception takes place on Saturday, Jan. 25 from noon to 2 p.m. A panel discussion and conversation about the Visual Arts Trenton from 1979 to 1999 will be held Wednesday, Feb. 12 at 7 p.m.
Mercer County Community College's Theatre students are teaming up with MCCC Professor Emeritus and renowned painter Mel Leipzig for a staged reading of "Rosmersholm," by Norwegian playwright Henrik Ibsen, on Thursday, Oct. 24 at 7 p.m. As eight students bring the drama to life in a staged reading, Professor Leipzig will serve as an on-stage narrator to lead the audience through the complexities of the plot and shed light on the historical events at the time the play was written. "Rosmersholm" will be performed at MCCC's Kelsey Theatre, located on the college's West Windsor Campus, 1200 Old Trenton Road.

Mercer County Community College's (MCCC) Kelsey Theatre kicks off its 2013-14 season with a trip back to Roman times when PinnWorth Productions presents 'A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum' tonight, Sept. 6 to 15. This high-energy classic starts off a colorful season of 22 full-length dramas and musical productions, along with eight shows for the younger set through the Kelsey Kids Series, performed by traveling professional troupes and local companies.
