Opera Australia presents Graeme Murphy's production of Franz Lehár's The Merry Widow, performed in English and set in the opulent art deco era of 1920s Paris. The production features sets by Michael Scott-Mitchell and costume designs by Jennifer Irwin, with Maestra Vanessa Scammell conducting. Emma Pearson and Julie Lea Goodwin share the role of Hanna Glavari, with Alexander Lewis returning as Danilo and Alexandra Flood making her Opera Australia debut. Lehár's score includes the famous waltz, cancans, gallops, and a polonaise, paired with Murphy's signature choreography.
