Winter Park Playhouse to Stage '60s Hit Musical in the New Year

The Winter Park Playhouse will treat audiences to a fun-loving musical comedy set in the decade of the 1960's with Why Do Fools Fall In Love? January 20 through February 18, 2017!

Performances are Friday and Saturday evenings at 7:30 p.m., Thursday and Saturday matinees at 2 p.m. and select Wednesday, Friday and Sunday matinees at 2p.m. Specially-priced performances include "Third Thursday" on February 2 at 7:30p.m. (matinee price for an evening performance) and previews on Thursday, January 19 at 7:30 p.m. and Friday, January 20 at 2:00 p.m.

Step into an impromptu bachelorette party where best friends dive into the age old questions about love, marriage, and the dating game. Set to the rockin' beat of the early 1960's this upbeat musical features a score of pop hits from the decade including My Boy Lollipop, I Will Follow Him, Hey There Lonely Boy, and the signature song Why Do Fools Fall In Love?

The powerhouse professional cast of all women returning to The Playhouse stage include Molly Jackson, Heather Kopp, Noel-Marie Matson, and Allyssa Yost. Artistic Director Roy Alan will direct and choreograph and Musical Director Christopher Leavy will music direct. The Playhouse trio will accompany, with Mr. Leavy on the piano, Ned Wilkinson on bass, and Sam Forrest on percussion.

"We are so happy to be starting 2017 with such a strong cast of professionals, singing some of the most popular songs from the 60's! It's all wrapped into a fun-filled musical that is a great night out at the theatre for everyone!" confirms Heather Alexander, Playhouse Executive Director.

Ticket prices are $40 evenings, $36 senior evenings, $30 matinees, $30 "Third Thursday" evening, $20 preview, $15 student and theatrical industry professionals. Student rush "$10@10" offers $10 tickets (for students 25 years and younger) 10 minutes prior to a performance when seats are available.
