High School in the Spotlight: Papillon-La Vista South High School

BroadwayWorld's Student Center High School Edition is back for another year! Just like the BWW College Center, the High School Center offers a directory featuring upcoming show listings for high schools nationwide. Schools can register for 'enhanced' listings on the site - adding in photos, cast lists, videos, links and more. Productions that take advantage of this will receive highlights on our listing pages, extra editorial mentions and potential spotlight features.

This week, we shine a spotlight on the theatre department at Papillon-La Vista South High School in Papillon, Nebraska!

The Fine Arts Department at Papillion-La Vista South plays an important role in many students’ lives. Opportunities for students to participate in arts activities are many and varied. The arts are valued at PL South and participation in activities in and out of the classroom is encouraged. Student work and achievements in all departments have been recognized locally, nationally, and statewide.

The Papillon-La Vista Titan Theatre department is a multi-level department with drama courses, a technical theatre class and a production class for advanced students.

Students who are interested in theatre arts are encouraged to participate in as many classes as possible. In addition, the theatre department offers production opportunities, including an annual Musical and Play presentation.

The theatre department also offers two extra curricular organizations drama club for any students 9-12, The International Thespian Society and the International Honorary organization for students involved in high school theatre.

This year, the school will be presenting WEST SIDE STORY on November 5-7 and THE FOREIGNER on February 8 and 9, 2013. Check out photos from past shows below and make sure to visit the school's production album here.
