CIMIENTOS 2027 – Call for Script Submissions

From June 1 through June 30, 2026, IATI Theater will accept script submissions for Cimientos 2027, our annual play development program. Playwrights from around the world are invited to submit original, unpublished plays written in English or Spanish.

Cimientos consists of two main components:

Playwrights Peer Panel (PPP) / Ten-Week Development Process

Playwrights selected for the program participate in a series of online workshop meetings alongside IATI Theater's artistic staff and invited theater professionals. Each session focuses on a single play, providing feedback and discussion designed to support the continued development of the work before it is presented to an audience.

Staged Reading Presentation (SRP) / Public Reading Series

Each playwright selected for the program receives a professionally directed and acted staged reading of their play. Following each presentation, audiences participate in a post-reading conversation that helps further develop the script through direct engagement and feedback.
