The Duplex Welcomes A VERY JERBY CHRISTMAS, 12/4

By:

John Raymond Barker (aka Jerby) returns to The Duplex (61 Christopher Street at 7th Ave) with a brand new show, A VERY JERBY CHRISTMAS on December 4, 2010 at 7:00 p.m. The show is John's unique take on Christmas, whether comically recalling Christmas with family or his new husband, skewering conservative politicians, or dreaming of Christmases yet to come. Appearances by his conservative, ex-gay character, Brother Barker, and stand-up by his baby brother, Jason Barker (direct from several appearances at Carolines on Broadway) fill out a festive evening capped by an expanded live performance of his hit YouTube video, "A Lady Gaga Christmas Medley". The show features both classic and new Christmas favorites as well as original music and is directed by Jared R. Pike.

The career of John Raymond Barker has never been dull whether playing the role of a singing phone sex girl in Lee Feldman's wild update of Sir Gawain and the Green Knight or as a ghostly ventriloquist in the world premiere of the musical, Whatever Happened to Baby Jane? Additionally, survival jobs have been  as thrilling and diverse as Broadway backstage doorman for the current revival of A Little Night Music and Grey Gardens to the Meow Mix mascot cat. John swings both ways, actor-wise, having  been seen in The Devil's Disciple at the Alley Theatre and Funny Girl and Grand Hotel at Theatre Under The Stars and the 5th Avenue Musical Theatre Co. John can currently be seen in a wide variety of work as a YouTube Partner on his channel, JerbyVids, where he creates web series, shorts, and music videos.

A VERY JERBY CHRISTMAS plays Saturday, December 4 at 7:00 p.m. at The Duplex (61 Christopher Street at 7th Ave). Tickets are $10 ($5 for Students/Union members with valid card/ID) plus a 2 drink minimum. (212) 255-5438
