Jason Odell Williams' highly anticipated new play 'Baltimore in Black and White' will have its World Premiere at The Cell Theatre in New York on May 2nd and tickets are already selling! After his last play, THE SCIENCE OF GUILT, won first prize in the FIXITSOLIFE Theatre's 2009 Playwriting Competition, audiences have been anxiously awaiting the arrival of his newest work. 'Baltimore in Black and White' follows a young woman who is about to marry an old friend of the family. The only problem: she's white and Jewish; he's black... and not. This laugh-out-loud ensemble comedy looks at how far we've come (and how far we haven't) over the past two decades by exploring two Baltimore family's relationships in 1987 and today.

About the Playwright, Jason Odell Williams: Though neither black nor Jewish, Jason feels his upbringing in Columbia, Maryland gave him a lot to say about all things race-related. Because let's face it: Race is hilarious. His plays have had readings and been developed at Primary Stages, MTC Creative Center, New Jersey Rep, The Bleecker Street Theatre, The Jewish Cultural Arts Theatre, Ensemble Studio Theatre, Rep Stage and The Baltimore Playwrights Festival. His play THE SCIENCE OF GUILT ran Off-Broadway at The DR2 Theatre in 2010 and starred Vincent Piazza & Anatol Yusef from HBO's Golden Globe Winning series "Boardwalk Empire." His play AT A LOSS will have its World Premiere in July 2011 at The Kitchen Theatre in Ithaca, NY and a subsequent production in November 2011 at The Gulfshore Playhouse in Naples, FL. Both productions will star his lovely wife Charlotte Cohn as an Israeli woman stuck in a small Virginia town on Christmas Eve where a DHL deliveryman has lost her grandmother's dead body. It's a comedy.

About the Director: Charlotte Cohn has directed plays and operas at Primary Stages, MTC, the Baltimore Playwrights Festival, The New School for Drama and Liederkrantz Opera. As an actress Charlotte has performed in La Boheme and Coram Boy on Broadway, Regional works include - A.C.T.: Happy End; CENTERSTAGE: The Boys From Syracuse, The Murder of Isaac; THE Prince Music Theatre: A Night in the Old Marketplace; NSMT: Nine; and PEAK PERFORMANCES: Uncivil Wars- Moving with Brecht and Eisler. Charlotte is an Ovation Award Winner and was nominated for the Bay Area Critics' Circle Award for her performance as 'Hallelujah Lil' in Happy End at A.C.T.
