The critically acclaimed Bedlam productions of William Shakespeare's Hamlet and George Bernard Shaw's Saint Joan, directed by Eric Tucker, are currently playing at off-Broadway's Lynn Redgrave Theater (45 Bleecker Street, NYC) through March 9, 2014.

Beginning tonight, February 18, 2014 the cast will feature Tom O'Keefe, Andrus Nichols, Eric Tucker and Stephan Wolfert. Original company member Edmund Lewis played his final performance February 16, 2014.

Played in repertory and with four actors, Hamlet and Saint Joan are boldly theatrical, stripped down, immersive productions of classic plays by one of America's most innovative downtown theatre companies.

The design team includes John McDermott (Set Design), Les Dickert (Lighting Design) and Trampas Thompson (Fight Choreographer).

Bedlam's Hamlet and Saint Joan are produced by Meredith Lucio, Sarah Hancock and Ron Simons in association with Joan Raffe & Jhett Tolentino, Patrick Blake, David Elliott and Martin Platt.

In this quintessential Shakespearean drama, Hamlet's halting pursuit of revenge for his father's death unfolds in a series of highly charged confrontations that climax in tragedy. The show runs 3 hours with two intermissions.

Saint Joan is based on the life and trial of Joan of Arc. Fascinated by the story of Joan of Arc (canonized in 1920), George Bernard Shaw presents a realistic portrayal of Joan: proud, intolerant, naïve, foolhardy, always brave-a rebel who challenged the conventions and values of her day. The show runs 3 hours with two intermissions.

Bedlam is a company committed to the immediacy of the relationship between the actor and the audience. With large ideas and modest budgets, Bedlam creates theatre in a flexible, raw space, presenting new writing, contemporary reappraisals of the classics and small-scale musical theatre. Their productions always include the audience. Storytelling is paramount. Bedlam believes that innovative use of space can collapse aesthetic distance and bring the audience into direct contact with the dangers and delicacies of life--inciting laughter and chaos, provoking thought and recreating the thrill of live experience.
